How Many think "Rick Warren" (author and pastor) should stay out?

I think Rick Warren is walking on shaky grounds and I see he has been a successful man so far with his book, 'The Purpose Driven Life" a bestseller by the New York Times, I think and it sounds like a really big following among his Saddleback Church (please correct me if I made a mistake), but why is he getting involved with the politics of Obama and McCain, I think he shouldn't even be going there. What if he makes a mistake that could tarnish his reputation forever and what happened to the seperation of church and state--leave it be, these are not the lessons Jesus taught and Warren risk becoming another Pharisee who loses his sight of personal relationship to god and gets entangled in the web of political greed and self righteousness--I say he should save himself while he can.

Can you tell me exactly what he is doing or saying? I like Rick and am very interested in what he is doing now.
How controversial is it?
