In America, the pilgrims sent confections such as sugar wafers, marzipan, sweet meats and sugar plums to their betrothed.
Great value was placed on these gifts because they included what was then a rare commodity, sugar.
After the late 1800's, beet sugar became widely used and more available. But sweet gifts continued to be valued and enjoyed up till today!
Do you send sweets to your love one during Valentines?

I guess that would depend on what your love one likes as well.
I have seen some pretty interesting packaging for sweets come Valentine's day.
And some of them are pretty good looking as well!
With a matching price tag to go with it too!
So, you like to give chocolates eh?
Which kind of chocolates do you like to give?

Yep... how times have changed eh?
How something like sugar is so valuable in the past, is so common now a days.
Well, that is nice that you are doing sweet things for your spouse.
Erm... care to share what kinda sweet things you do for him?
Does he... erm... notice the sweet things you do for him?
Does he appreciate it?

I have given sweets on V-day. It was during my JC days. We were practically exchanging sweets in class.
