What's the mesage you've learned from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

The movie was about how people wanted to erase things which thy would rather forget. This is voluntarily done and they sign an agreement to that effect. This stars Jim Carrey and Kate Winslett. It's a gripping, romance movie that deals on an unusual topic. What is good about the movie was the realization in the end that one has to accept the other if he/she truly loves her/him, that sometimes high expectations only ruins an otherwise happy relationship. Have you watched the movie? What did you learn from it?
Your thoughts would be most welcome.

I will definitely going to watch it soon. It is really not
good to erased something that already happened because even
if that particular experienced leave nothing but pain, it
will always be a part of your life.

I've watched this film a few times and really enjoy it, it's very clever and thoughtful and at the same time also quite funny.
I guess I learnt a few things from it but primarily that memories are good, even the bad ones. They show us who we are and remind us of the path we've travelled. It shows that without our memories we are destined to repeat our mistakes.
Perhaps more importantly though, it shows the strength of love.
