I'd say that the first chicken didn't came from an egg, but through evolution. It evolved from something that wasn't even alike a chicken, and then this new animal could lay eggs. Then, resuming, I'd say that the chicken came first, through evolution. Remember: that's my way of thinking. ^^

sorry but i would like to differ from your answers that the chicken came first...the study has already proved that not the chicken but the egg came first...now you would like to know how? let me tell you that a team made up of geneticist, philosopher and chicken farmer answered to this question and they said it was an egg...they said "eggs were around long before the chicken arrived. of course they may not have been chicken eggs as we see them today, but they were eggs"...the living organism inside the eggshell would have had the same dna as the chicken it would develop into, they said...this is what the study says for me i really don't understand and don't care i eat them both ...lol let me give the credits to the people who said this... Mr. Papineau, an expert in the philosophy of science. Professor John Brookfield, a specialist in evolutionary genetics at the university of nottingham and Charles Bourns, Chairman of trade body Great British Chicken.

yeah... i agree with rahil i think that the egg comes first. my grandpa ask me that question when i was a little and he taught me why the egg comes 1st. i would like to show it to you but i can't.. becuase he just draw it to me.. ahahahaha... it was really simple.. 1st just draw an egg, and then just draw two legs a neck, wings, tails and a head.. and then there you go a chicken... ^^

hey, glay,i do really think that is not a silly question.in many debates, people would choose this topic and it really arouse heat discussions.it is not so easy to answer this .as for me,i think the chicken is the precedent of the egg, because maybe just like any other animals, god makes them, then they make their posterity.like we human beings,we exist, then have babies.

hello chenmeiyi, thanks for responding!! i appreciate it yeah i think so too.. in the bible, God made the animals when he created the world. hope it happened that way really.. the question is, what if he just created the egg and then it hatched into a chicken.. hahahaha this is confusing though..
