I just noticed it that every time I sip a small amount of cola especially Coke Zero, I usually get hiccups and it take an hour before it is gone..It's very irritating.. Have you experienced it too? Any reason why do I get hiccups after sipping a small amount cola drink?

Here is a web site that helps explain it all in simple terms: http://kidshealth.org/kid/talk/qa/hiccup.html There is a little flap at the bottom of your esophagus and due to something irritating it and caseing it to not close properly.

It's more than likely due to the carbonation in the soft drink. Some have more than others in it. All those tiny bubbles (as seen when you pour a glass) are all air bubbles (ie: carbonation.) Some people get the hiccups from all that extra air going into their stomaches, and some people end up burping. I don't get the hiccups from it, although sometimes if my stomaches upset I do get the burping. Quite possibly Coke Zero has a lot of extra carbonation in it.
