Hello all, Hope all is well. I was wondering if have, or know anyone who has been a victim of theses latest news Phishings. I'd appreciate the info if you dont mind. What happened, how you fixed it, the results. Im doing a article about them and so far the ones who are victims are not well schooled in the area of online safety, I need some info from those who are computer savvy. Ive clicked on several to see what they try to get from you and its the usual, a site with ads or a site that wants you to sign up and give em your personal data. Take care, and thanks in advance.

Typically these things are pretty obvious, but not always, and one can be careless and not pay attention. I did get caught once, I had recently made an eBay transaction, I got an email claiming to be from eBay, and was careless and not paying attention, even though it seemed odd to me some of the information they wanted, but I fell into their trap anyway. The way I discovered it was that they tested my account with small transactions, so I contacted the company they used to make them, and got most of the money back ($1 here $1 there) and then I went to my bank, they closed my account and opened a new one with my previous balance. That's the best thing you can do, change whatever they stole so they can't find you.

I know what you mean by being careless, it just takes a moment of distraction. Kids, doorbell, ect.
