Care for Some Hamster Donuts?

Singapore

Hey friends! (Be prepared! Disgusting photos attached. Not for the weak stomach!) Would you care for some hamster donuts for breakfast? This was sent to me by one of my colleagues. Sometimes, I rather don't understand the food that some people eat. Imagine having baby hamsters on top of your donuts. Yucks, I don't know how could anybody stomach this! (Pictures attached) It is even considered as a delicacy in some countries!! It just seems so cruel to me and everything (Afterall, they are still babies, and it seems to me that they are newborns - as the eyes are not opened). This is just too disturbing for words. What do you think? Would you dare to eat this?

Mmmm ... sure sounds sick!! Looks sick too!! But what would you say to making soup out of chicks? Yup, a few month old chicks? Just babies! They give such soup to pregnant women in my culture. It is supposed to be strengthening. People do have weird food habits. :) And I have got some really yucky pictures of Chinese dishes from my online friend, and they looked really yucky--worms and scorpions and all that in the plates. Do people really eat that stuff?

Internal organs of pigs? But that is a Goan Catholic and Mangalorean Catholic delicacy. Some people here will literally kill for a plate of "internal organs of pig" and a bottle of fenny. I don't like it though. :) Cheers!

Yeah~ Tell me about it! Sometimes, I will look at my own culture and marvel at the food that people are willing to put into their mouths. (I saw fried coahroaches in Thailand once!) People really do eat those stuff that you just mentioned! But of course, it does not apply to all Chinese. I think only China serve these dishes in their restaurants and roadside stalls. Haha, you would definately NOT find those in Singapore (even though we have a strong presence of Chinese culture here) You mean to say that your people actually do that in your culture? eeks! I sure do not want to be pregnant over in India! (Sorry, no offence to you!) It is just that I don't have the stomach for any 'interesting' food that people serve. Not even pig's internal organs which is quite big here for the Chinese. Lol. Well, my friend, thanks for your input! Happy mylotting!!

Hmmm...really? Well isn't it hamsters are from the rat family? In some parts of the philippines rice field rats or we call it 'dagang bukid' were eaten as exotic food. Haven't tasted though but they say it taste like chicken mean. Even if it does taste like steak, no thanks! lols!

Thanks for the information provided! I am aware that hamsters came from the rat family and rats is eaten in most parts of the world. It just sounds sick as hamsters are mostly domestic animals that we keep for pets. I had never heard of it as a food item before, only just recently! Hmm.. if it taste like chicken, then I guess it is not all that bad afterall. Lol.

Hoax or truth? I am not sure. Lol. Anyway, I had uploaded the pictures up but the funny thing is that it does not show in my discussion, as such I had opened another discussion on the same topic. (YOu should be able to find it in discussion that I had started)! Hope that this helps!
