it has been a habit to sleep on my way to work each morning. i usually travel by us and the hour long travel time can make room for another 30 minutes of snoozing.
while, accidents statistics are fairly high, and i was often advise not to sleep so i'm ready for anything, i can't keep myself from drowsing. the air, the sun, everything seems to lull me to sleep some more.
this is worse when im travelling 100or more miles where there is higher probability of sudden mishaps since i almost spent some 2-3 hours of sleeping.
are you a travel-sleeper too?

Yes, you are right.. as for as the long distance is concern, the people used to travel in the night times, most of the people can select the Public transport, they can take the night travel in the bus/train, It is always try to sleep in the travelling times, be comfortable in your seat and start sleeping, and keep your luggages/bags safe with yourself when you sleep.
There is nothing wrong to take sleep in the transport, when you travelling for a long distance..
As for as myself is concern, we used to go to the long distance, (300-350 Kms) we used to travel by our own car, we used to start in the early morning, or in the afternoon, and reach the destinations by the afternoon or in the Late evening, we always avoid the night travel by our car, When we travel in our car, we will not took sleep, because since my hubby is driving, i will sit with him, by hearing the music, my kid may took sleep on the way, most of the time, in the back seat..
Thanks for the discussions to share my experience.

I am not a travel-sleeper, Dare. But, sometimes I sleep too when I travel using a bus. Yet, now I have been accustomed to travel by riding motorcyle, icluding two days ago when I went home town, around 500 km far from the place I work now.

hi thinkbest. it does save you alot more when you travel on your own vehicle than when you are on public transport. but i keep myself from too much motorcycle since statistics say that most vehicular accidents involve two-wheeled motors. anyway, you do take care on the bike and thanks for sharing.
happy posting.

I think that it is fine to snooze on the bus or the train on the way too of from work. However it wouldn't be good to be so sleepy that you went past your stop. I don't tend to fall asleep in bus seats but I did once in a train seat. This happened when I was really tired and jet lagged after flying home from the Maldives. I love to sleep on a long distance train journey laying down in a comfortable compartment. By day looking out of the window keeps me awake but when it gets dark I get a bit sleepy.
