I like to read mysteries. From the classics to the modern stories I prefer mysteries. They seem to keep me more engaged and I like to try and figure out the case to see if I am right. While I like watching television to there are very few great books that have ever been matched by equally good movies made about them.

I really like science fiction and fantasy. I just finished reading a trilogy called "the Oran Trilogy" by Midori Snyder and it was awesome. My favorite author, however would have to be Chuck Palahniuk (wrote Fight Club). His books are so creative and so convaluted, it amazes me so much I wish I could find out how his mind works!

Mostly Science Fiction and Fantasy, but anything will do so long as it is well written. I like to have a bit of escapism.

My subjects of interest are philosophy, history, literature and politics. Now I am reading some Buddhist texts. Religion also appeals me a great deal.

I read any and all kind of books. I don't like limiting myself because there might be a book out there in a different genre that you may not think you like but it turns out to be something you really enjoy. Ever since I was young, my mom and dad would have to tell me to put the book down and go to sleep. Even now I read a little before bedtime because it helps me relax before I go to bed. I don't have a preference. I used to say that I like everything but science fiction and biographies. But then I read a few stephen king books that recently are more along the lines of science fiction. I love to dance so I recently picked up a biography on Maria Tallchief. She was mainly ballet. Both of these proved my theory wrong of what I thought I liked and vice versa. I think it is very important to never weigh anythong out until you have tried it. Only then can you truly say you don't like it. If you don't think you like a certain genere, try to find a book that is written in that genre about a hobby that you enjoy or a topic that interests you. You will be surprised how interesting you may find that. I do like watching television as well. However if you are really into a good book, the good thing about that is..instead of it lasting for just 30 min or about 2 hours that can be the length of a movie, the book can last longer. So if you really don't want it to end because it's so good, at least the book can grant you your wish a little longer. But when it's a movie based on a book... I always recommend the book over the movie. The book has such description and often the movie cuts things out that add to the whole ambiance of the book itself. I'm sorry for rambling but when you get me talking about books...I can go on and on. :)
