Please Tell Me, What is Limewire?

Limewire is a peer to peer file sharing lient...something like what Napster oe was. So basically your kids are downloading files from Limewire and then saving it on the computr whih si beocming overloaded with endless programs already running, now they have probably add songs and movies.

Running limewire is not recommended when you have a dial-up connection. Like other P2P, Limewire is not always safe, some files that you will get are infected of virus, trojans etc. that can harm your system. I think the "limewire files" that you are saying is the limewire incomplete files. those files are needed for limewire to be able to resume the previously paused downloads.
