So I have been trying to figure this out, but I just can't! I get how myLot works for the most part... I've been starting discussions and commenting on ones I have something to contribute to. But I don't understand all the numbers next to members' names? And how can I get me one of those cute little stars!? :) I just think they're pretty! I'd think to think my posts are pretty good. I'm sincere in all of my responses and usually only respond if I have something to say or feel strongly about a subject. Does this affect my "score" at all? That's the part I don't get... how the ranking works. Thanks for your help!

The Mylot community is very generous so you came to the right place for advice. Your star is coming soon. After you have posted one hundred times, you will get a star. Numbers range from one to ten with ten being the highest. Your first star probably won't be a very high number, but don't fret. As long as you keep posting honestly and with care, the number in the star will begin to rise. Also, the more you post the more privileges you will receive. You can increase your earnings by posting images and using the mylot code, but again that is a privilege that comes with experience. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do and that you make many friends along the way because most importantly this is a social community. Enjoy!

Mylot is like a progessive forum, as you move along and accumulate more posts you reach different goals that give you more things like the right to copy and paste, to get your star and the ability to add photos to your discussions, just keep posting and you will eventually reach these goals, one day you will be met with a surprise...just good fun..

The number next to your name is the number of posts you have made, the star with a number is your rating, if I'm not wrong you get a star once you have made 100 posts. As for how it works, I think they take into account a lot of variables one of them being if you have been rated possitively (that's what the plus and minus signs are for) also if you've been given the best answer rating in a topic your rating should improve, etc.

Well, you are right it says user rating, but if you look at it, every time you make a comment your number rises by one, and if a discussion is deleted that number also is reduced by one, so I really do think it has a lot to do with posts.

Thanks for your response. So, do most people rate other members' responses? I mean, use the plus and minus symbols? Should I use these if I like someone's response?

Hi missy, I know you have a bunch of tips already...ANyway, try to add many friends and turn on their notification so that you'll be active in their post as well as they will be active in your post! then, try to have a goal each day so that you can maintain your earnings, rate everyone in your post!

I have some idea of how the myLot system works. But, I don't quite know exactly. So, I just have to keep working, posting and responding. But, I am very happy to meet many friends while doing that. That has become the real value of myLot to me. Have a nice day !

Hi missykrissy85, Welcome to mylot!! You have chosen a fun site to join. The people here are very friendly and helpful. If looking for advice, then you have chosen well. Just post a discussion and you will get several responses to whatever you want to know. The more you post, the more you will learn. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. When I need an answer to something, I post a discussion and get several opinions, or views, or advice, so I can make my decision to whatever I needed to know. The more friends you have, the better for you in the long run. So make friends as you go. Respond to your friends discussion if you can, and they will reply to yours in return if they can as well. Good luck to you and have a nice day..

Hi missykrissy85,The number beside your name is the amount that you have posts in mylot. If you want to get those cute little stars, your number beside your name must reached 100,it means that you must reach 100th post to get a star. The score and ranking of your star is based on the answer and discussions that you started is good or normal. If many people ranked your discussion or answer is good, then your ranking will gone up.The star ranking will drop is your answer and discussion is not good.
