In which field do you work? can you say what are the recent points of concerns for you? I am in IT field. this September 4 years will be completed as per my experience. so in my case the main concern is till date I have not got a single onsite opportunity. It is really bad in IT field as well as its making be depressed. Also no onsite means no extra money being in IT also. Its very sad and bad luck for me. once I was about to fly and at last moment got cancelled. I do not know whether i will get it or not.Plus the salary is very low so what are your concerns?

I sort of work in the Real Estate sector... i was a teacher before... but i decided to shift careers in order to be able to take care of my daughter... some think that i am earning tons of money because of the commission based salary of real estate brokers... but then in my case... i don't get any... because i don't sell any property... but i take care of the property of my boss... so i earn a monthly salary... I would earn more if i put to use my broker's license... but i am really not comfortable selling properties to other people...

I am really contented with what i am now, a good pay scale.. though not in hefty packages.. decent yearly increments.. a public sector undertaking institution...no need to travel... even for going to office, which is less than kilometer away. And if could do the sleight of hand techniques to please my Manager, i would have gone some three cadres up, ( i mean 3 promotions) but boot licking them for sake of money at the cost of my self esteem.. i hate..

Well my concern is actually having to stay here longer. I still want to continue studying and to teach at the same time so maybe If I am given the chance I'll surely leave this work to teach.

I work for a paint manufacturing industry. The most recent concern for our indusry is shortage of raw materials, due to which almost all of the small players here got wiped out. This resulted in extra targets for us and my industry is one of the giants. But we are also suffering and one of the many reasons for this shortage is China Olympics. China is one of the biggest supplier of these raw materials and the Chinese government has forced many of the polluting industries to close in preperation for Olympics

...ohh i think we have the same dilemma..as an IT graduate, i feel im not well experience in my field., though i had an experience as an IT instructress in the computer school but i didn't stay there for long due to unstable situation of the place.. now i work in the gov't agency but my assignment is in accounting department.. what i'm usually trying to do is try to be online more often to upgrade my self with the latest news and development of the computer world.. so that i will not be left behind as far as the latest technology is concern.. though i want to proceed to masteral education, but i cannot afford it right now. my salary is not enough to be able to send me to graduate studies... so thats how sad life is.. i just have lo live with the reality...

I work for the state government, so each year our jobs, which are seasonal, are determined by the state budget. We normally work from mid-March to late November, and then we are off 3 months. However because of budget constraints this year they are letting us off at the end of September. However, by letting all the seasonal people off early this year, they will not have to let anyone go permenantly. This year it really didn't affect me, since I have been off work since April due to an on-job injury. But each year, we wait around to see if the Govenor will pass the budget on time, if not then we go into a layoff. Last year we were layed off for 1 day, we still got paid for it, it was just really stupid that he could not pass the budget on time. And the other concern for us is, being seasonal, we do not have any benefits, but on the other hand we do get paid well.

I am also in the IT field. We have recently taken over some more companies and my job has changed. I actually like it for the better, but my concern is that I graduate in Dec in accounting and I am scared I am not going to like accounting and be able to find a good job. My job now pays decent money for our area, but I dont want to be here till I retire.

i am a nurse practicing for 7 years already in my dear homeland, Philippines. my main concern is also the low salary wage which nurses earn each month. the job is so demanding and risky and yet we are given no hope that soon it will rise up. the only thing i know is to find my luck working in foreign land, US. enough for being so patriotic if your own beloved country itself has no plans of giving you and your family a decent kind of life. hopefully soon i will be flying to serve other nation in exchange of a good future.

I also think of always promotions and extra money till this years. In my previous places even i quit the company because of no promotions or less increments. But i feel thats because of unncessary expectation and frustation. But now i could settle to say and am ok to continue with the company if my dreams are settled ..... I target my revenues for the year , if i achieved i am ok to continue.(atleast 90%) promotions never, as you know net to net money matters rather than promotions. i compare my ctc with others in same industry and ok with that. So i suggest set your resonable targets for the year and claim from the company, if you are not getting then quit thats it
