It's possible to get hired and paid to write short reviews about your favorite dining establishments and clubs... Because of this pesky recession, a great many restaurants, clubs and pubs will need to maintain a presence in the marketplace to attract more business, and also to remind their former patrons that they are still in business, and are offering additional discounts along with their enhanced menus... Simply put, these people need you, and your writing skills to help them survive, and that's a Good Thing! :) Back in the day, I really enjoyed my freelance gig as a restaurant reviewer. There was a lot of work to had with the many local "City- Lifestyle" newspapers that seemed to spring up all over the country like breeding Portobellas after a Spring rain... In my heyday, I could easily find myself eating at 75 restaurants and club/pubs in a single month! Of course, it helps a lot if you really, really like food and drink, and have a curious and adventurous Nature... The knack for high-level physical exercise and the ability to burn off lots of calories overnight, is another cool skill-set that should help you along in this game, too! :) Of course, I no longer write nearly as many reviews these days, and I am contented enough to concentrate my Foodie efforts in entering recipe and cooking contests, as many of you here at Mylot might have noticed, but the need for writers in "The Biz " grows greater each day. I have developed a knack for finding resources for whatever I choose to do, as far as writing is concerned, and the totally cool site named E-How has served me well with information and inspiratation in huge measures! :) How To Write a Professional Restaurant Review deserves a look-see: http://www.ehow.com/how_4480008_write-professional-restaurant-review.html And one if my smart- a8ssed replies to a fun discussion on Apsense will provide a bit of fun for your day! :) "Off The Main Road " A Dining Experience in Australia: Like all roadside diners, the ambience might be a bit rough, but the food is truly memorable... Served with a florish and quite the standard setter for freshness, too! How the masterful skills of the Chef De' Maison managed to coax the palette- pleasing chewiness of an attractive and moist outer jacket, if you will, to coyingly conceal what might be the rarest, most deliciously sensual packet of flesh that this reviewer has ever ingested, the World may never know... T'was with great self restraint and constriction, that I managed to pen this informative note as a beneficial directive for my readers considerations, before I slowly began the bit by bit engagment of becoming One...with a meal that was surely the Imperial inspiration of a loving brace of Angels or Dragons! Mind you, be sure to wind your way into those hidden and craggy places off road, you might just discover a meal that you can really wrap yourself around... :) Please see image here, and have a fun day! :) http://www.apsense.com/subject/32618.html

I've written a restaurant review before but it was about a chain restaurant and I only made $4.00 from AC for it. But it's better than nothing.

As a matter of fact I may look into that. I curently do restaurant evaluations (I did one anyway) for a mystery reviewer company. It was much more work than I thought it would be. I had worked for a company in the past that was not quite as stringent. I think I would enjoy writing a review more than an evaluation because you dont have to have a running timeclock in the dialogue or necessarily remeber who said what to whom.
