My husband gets 2 weeks of vacation from work each year. He took his first week of vacation when my youngest son was born in January, and he is taking his 2nd next week. He'll have the whole week off.
We aren't going anywhere. We have a friend coming until Wednesday, and after that we have no plans at all. We're just going to relax and hang out as a family.
What do you do on your vacations?

My hubby gets one week a year but we take more then that. If we dont have the vacation time we just take the time off with out pay. If we plan it out okay it all works out in the end. We just got back from vacation and it was well worth it. I needed the break.

My hubby usually takes vacation around his annual hire date. Which is in October, making trips a bit difficult at times. This year we are having a baby. So he will take some of the time around December. When my hubby takes a break, we play tourists in our own town. Hit up the sites, restaurants, museums etc. We have fun as a family.

It is when I see these sorts of discussions that I realise how lucky we are when it comes to my hubbys job. He gets 6 weeks paid holiday from work, not to be taken when he pleases but the whole factories close down at these times. He has just had three weeks off and has just gone back and then he will be off for another week in september.
Normally we go away during the summer hols when he has three weeks off, we go away for a week but this year we could not afford as we were doing other things. We just went out for a day instead. Other than that we had no plans and just stayed at home.

You don't get much holiday in the US, do you? In the UK, about 4 weeks is normal and you even accrue holiday (or money in lieu of holiday) when you are doing temporary work.
I don't do paid work just now, so get no holidays. However, if I did then I think vegging out at home would suit me just fine. I'm no great traveller, and if you are working hard the rest of the time sometimes what you need is just a rest where you can enjoy spending some time with your family.
Have a great holiday together!

I took a vacation three months back. I visited my native village, spent some good time with friends roaming around cotto fields and swimming in the river flowing bye. It had been a refreshing time for me. I plan to go there every year
