To me, this is quite funny. Apparently Microsoft is realizing that their products is being completely beat down by Vista not working properly, by Mac and those crazy "I'M a Mac" commercials. They have decided to enlist Jerry Seinfeld in their latest $300 million dollar advertising campaign.
To me, this seems almost like the are bribing Seinfeld: He will appear with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates in ads and receive about $10 million. $10 Million JUST for a few ads!
Two key points in the article that made me chuckle:
1. Microsoft executives privately acknowledge that Windows — the company's most important brand — has grown stale and has been battered by Apple's "Mac vs. PC" ads.
2. Apple's computer sales have been rising, and Vista is dogged by the notion that it has technical shortcomings and is hard to use

If you were torn between a PC & a Mac, would Jerry Seinfeld - or even the Mac commercials - make or break your final decision?
I would LOVE to have a Mac, but the few computer games that I do play are PC only. Plus, hubby just bought me a top of the line PC a few months ago and I think he would kill me if I traded it for a mac.

It wouldn't make a difference to me either way. If I am interested in a product, I will buy it no matter who is in the commercial.

Hehehe..I DO have a Mac computer, and yes there are some limitations like not being able to download a few things that are PC geared only, but since I'm not an on-line game user no problem. BUT even if I was in the market to get a new computer I'm too used to Macs now, and also as far as Jerry Seinfeld trying to sway or convince me to buy a PC? A definite no...can't stand him...LOL..If anything THAT would turn me off all the more

people will still buy microsoft products no matter who does their commercials, microsoft is one of the biggest monopolies I know of. I hate them, but till they can fix their bugs on vista, I'll stick with my XP. Which isn't bad but isn't good either. A lot of things are not compatible with mac, which makes people buy microsoft stuff. which most things, like games are all microsoft.

I dont think any one needs to save Microsoft. It is biggest monopoly and will continue its reign for the immediate foreseen future. As for Vista they are once again going to recreate the magic, just like the time Windows Me failed and they immediately came up with XP which is still leader of the OS market. We are all waiting for release of Windows 7 which is expected in 2010
