Hi Friends, Do you think Windows 7,formerly known as Black comb or Vienna slated for release in 2009 can be the Microsofts answer for short comings of Vista. I certainly expect it to be from their past performance. When Windows Me failed to catch they immediately came up with Windows XP, which dominates the market even today. So what do you think about Windows 7?

I don't think so. Windows 7 is dedicated for touch screen computers which is far different with Windows Vista. Also, Vista is still a baby and it's hard to tell in this early stage if it's a failure. Let's wait for 2010 and see what happens.

This might be true but I have seen a windows NT351 with touch screen and I have seen Windows XP with Touch Screen. and with those you also had keyboard and mouse support also

What makes you think Vista is a failure? In my opinion it isn't. Yes Vista needed more of everything in the computer i.e. more memory to work right but that isn't the fault of Microsoft now is it. If the user checked out the min requirements of Vista then they would have known. Now for Windows 7 / Black comb / Vienna I will expect more requirements on the computer over what vista has for requirements and if you check www.windowsvienna.com you will see Windows Vienna, 7 is not slated for release until 2011. So now if you need a new computer it is going to come with Vista unless your current computer will last another 3 or more years waiting for Vienna

I know nothing about Windows 7. However, I have noticed that when Microsoft starts changing names even before it comes out, it is a disaster. I've just bought my first computer with Vista on it so I've not learned Vista yet.

I don't think so, it will be another failure, and it will be like Vista maybe with some changes.. For me, I'm going for a Mac now.
