Sheryl Crowe does a good deed:
"The Grammy Award-winning singer announced a plan Wednesday to give a digital copy of her album ''Detours'' to the first 50,000 people who register three friends to vote.
''I hope people wake up and emotionally engage in issues,'' Crow told The Associated Press in a telephone interview during a visit to Los Angeles."
She's putting her money where her mouth is. Whether or not you like her music or agree with her politics (she and I are miles apart on both!), she's doing something constructive in hopes of improving the country.

Well this is certainly a postive position for her to take, no question...... The million dollar question now I guess is how many of these 50,000 people and their friends who have registered to vote will take their free album; collectively listen to it; and then take their vote seriously? I am not trying to take away from what she is doing here but whenever there is even the slightest sniff of something FREE in the air, some people will do whatever it takes with no intentions of taking HER intentions seriously!

That's true and I'm sure she thought of that. But if even a quarter or a third of those young people vote and see their voice make a difference, think what that will do! They might get involved in things and make some much needed changes because of Miss Crowe's encouragement!

Yes, a lot of people preach but very few give up the price of 50,000 cd's for a cause they believe in!

That is nice. I like Sheryl Crowe. I think she is a talented singer and a good human being. I hope to see her this fall at the Verizon Center in Richmond Va. That would be a great concert.

I admire her, too. I think she's a bit whacky sometimes, like wanting to limit toilet paper--I would think limiting paper towels would be more effective--but she's a compassionate and talented woman that I really like, from what I know of her.
