I always ask them if they are selling anything, I get a little angry when they say no, they don't think that promoting is still selling....

I feel a little sorry for them..as those who are calling are actually trying to make a living..I try to keep that in mind when I tell them I am not interested..I try to picture them as another human being trying to pay bills..I am sure when they go home ..they are just like you and I?+

Yes I agree but I just wish when you ask if they are selling, I wish they would say yes then you could say politely that you are not interested...but yes I feel sorry for them too in a way....

Well, you would think with the ways to Block telemarketers, that more people would do so. The main issue is, that some of them find other ways legally to get our information so they can call us anyway. Personally, they are a Nuisance and I wonder how anyone can stand to be one. I tried it, and it was one of the worst jobs I have ever tried.

I know how it is too..that is why I feel a little sorry..but some folks are so desperate for employment and the money they get paid is usually above minimum wage.. That they take the job of a telemarketere..I personally don't think I would like to call other people's home.. You never know what you are interrupting:)+

I don't like people calling me to persuade me buy something.. which I don't need! However.. I do realize that most of them just doin their job (just imagine if you're in their position, who are obliged to sell something), so, sometimes I just say 'sorry, not interested', and other time, i just leave them on the phone, talkin, then disconnect it ..

Oh my..I think that is a different way of responding to a telemarketer..I never left the phone for them to talk to themselves..Poor souls..I am sure it must get discouraging for them..don't you think?+

I am sick of telemarkets. I tell them no that i am not interested in their products politely but, then also they will not listen to me. Sometimes evn though I have an offer which gives me something free like 2000 SMs, these people calls me to pay some money to get some other offer for SMS. this irriates me a lot and I just keep my phone aside.Let them talk to themselves. I hate the automatic telemarkeing calls a lot.

Yes usually when they call to tell you have won something and that they are giving you something free..they always follow with .."we will need your credit card number to cover the small shipping and handling charge" I have to laugh and tell them "if it's not shipped for free, then don't send me this free item"+

I hate them. I wish the owners of these companies would get AIDS and die.

I try to politely tell them I am not interested and to take me off their call list, if they get rude or too persistant I disconnect the call. If they call back after that I request a supervisor and inform them that I have asked to be taken off the call list and they are still calling me which is now harassment. Usually that works.

I really admire the polite people in here ..especially with the telemarketers..remember though..they are simply doing their job..and it must be disheartening to hear so many dial tones and rude remarks:)+

If the automated ones come on I just hang up but If it's a live person I try to stop them immediately so they don't waste anymore of my time and I don't waste theirs. Most of the time I have to talk over them and say "I'm sorry I'm not interested" and hang up.

I have caller ID, so if I do not know the number I don't answer. If it is important they will leave me a message and I will call them back. I hate having to deal with ppl trying to get money out of me or sell me something, so if on the off chance that I do answer the phone and it is a telemarketer ~ I tell them I am the babysitter and they can't hang up fast enough lol.

That is funny..I use to care fo an elderly lady with alzheimers and they would call her house..We usually answered the phone with this the "" residence and when it was a telemarketer I would hand the phone to the little lady with alzheimers..she loved it.since phone calls were few and far between..The phone call never lasted more than 3 minutes..Once they realized they were speaking to someone who didn't know what they were talking about they hung up..+

I would never buy something from a telemarketer. So when I realize it's a telemarketer I will interrupt them and say "I'm sorry. I'm not interested. You have a nice day." and I hang up the phone. There's no reason to waste more of my time or their time by trying to do something mean to them.

I like that you send them off with good wishes..I really find it hard to be mean to them..since they are just doing there job..Can you imagine how it must be to have to do their job and how many times they are spoken to in a mean fashion?+

I have lots of fun while talking to them... i'll ask all kinda of irrelevant and stupid questions. If they ask me any detail then also i give them wrong ones and them while talking to them ask them so many questions that they sometimes get frustrated and cut the call... I would recommend you all to tackle them like this only if u have lots of free time.

I am trying to close the phone down. They are not calling times that are respectfull (in the morning or at afternoon) but at hours like 15:00-17:00 and even after 21:00 I hate it when they are doing it.
