And I was finally reunited today with my best friend from grade school! It was like a dream and so wonderful to see her again!!! She moved away when we were ten because of her Dad's work and we lost track of each other through the years but thanks to the computer she found me again and we met today for the first time and it was so amazing! She lives a long way away but she promised she would come back again in a years time and so I am ecstatic! So, this brings me to wondering, have you been re-united with an old friend ever? How long had it been since you had last seen that person? Can anyone here beat my record of twenty years!?! If not, is there someone you are looking for? ~Heavens~

I do not have any friends that I came across after school or college. If I meet them after another 10 years, it would be wonderful. Lots would have changed and there would be lots to share. So did you friends give each other a party for meeting after long time?

Hi heavens, I'm so glad for you, that you were able to have this wonderful reunion. It's great too, that she was able to meet your husband, and your son. That's really special. I'm sure you'll never lose touch again. As for me, I have accidentally run into some friends that I lost track of, a few years ago. One of them was actually my former room mate, and I was one of her bridesmaids. We vowed never to be out of touch again, as it had been a number of years, but sadly, she stopped e-mailing me, and I'm unable to reach her. On the same day I ran into this friend, I also met another old friend, that I used to see all of the time. We weren't as close, so we didn't attempt to keep in touch, but it was nice chatting with her, just the same. There are a couple of my friends from high school that I'd like to see again, and they were both my very close friends, when I was a child, as well as a teen. I saw one of their names on 'Classmates,' but didn't sign up at the time. If I ever did connect with them, it would be after thirty years.

When I left school, I did not really keep in touch with my classmates or schoolmates, but internet is a great thing, isn't it? I have found many of my friends through social networking sites. I only have one - Facebook and it's a great way to talk to them. Some have moved out of the country, some on course overseas, some working overseas. It's great to see each with their own achievements.

Hi there heavenschild! Congratulations to you and your best friend! I am sure that you are really very happy for having been able to see her again after 20 years. It's really great to be reunited with people we love so dearly and have not seen for a very long time. I was never really apart that long from any of my friends. But with my cousins who have migrated to the US 22 years ago? Well, yeah, when we last saw each other during a family reunion last month, I was really very happy.

I havent but I would think it would be neat if it happened to me. I do have some old friends from years ago that I wouldnt mind seeing again. Most of them are friends from college though and I could probably look thme up if I wanted to. I guess I'm not really that curious.

Oh that is really lovely for you both. I think it is great that people can find lost friends and relations through the computer. You must have been made up to finally see her again after all that time. I have never been re united with any old friends, the trouble for me is that I moved around so much as a child I never really made any real good friends as such. So there is no one that I am really looking for to see again really although I have recently spoken briefly to a school friend that I had not seen for 20 years. But that was only through a couple of emails.

You must have been made up to finally see her again after all that time. Jenny and I never had a disagreement.... She moved when we were ten because of her Dad's work and we were both so sad about it at the time! It was absolutely wonderful to be with her today! Jenny moved around a lot too after she left here and that is how we lost touch over the years! Now, we are in contact again! I am so glad as I have always loved her and over the years I had worried about her and wondered where she was! ~Heavens~

Well, I can't beat your record - I'm only in my early twenties. But I do have a story. I grew up in a military family in a military community. My best friends were Amanda (my godsister) and Sarah. Their dad were in the military with my step-dad. When I was in third grade, Amanda's family moved. At that age, it's hard to keep in touch. The next year, Sarah moved, and then my mom and step-dad got divorced, and I fell out of what little contact I'd had with the two of them. I wondered about them over the years, especially Mandy, whose mother was a bit abusive. When I was in the eighth grade, we got the internet. My mom remembered Mandy's grandparents' names, so we looked them up. We called and they gave us Mandy's number. Three months later she was in my living room - lots of tears! We're still in touch, but not as much as I'd like to be. Sarah was a bit more difficult. Her parents had gotten divorced as well, and her mother had remarried. I tried to find her or her parents many times, but without success. Finally I joined classmates.com on a whim - and I found her older brother, then her. I cried like a baby. I happily ponied up enough money for the ability to contact her, and that night, we spoke on the phone for the first time in 12 years. I cried a lot. Six months later, she and her son flew to Tampa, and I hugged her for the first time in 13 years. Last May, I was visiting my mom, and she drove down to visit with us. It was the first time my mother had seen her in 15 years, and even my mom was a little emotional. We're still in close contact, and it's like no time passed at all. Thank God for the internet!

So, so glad that you found your friends and I sure do know how you feel! I am an only child and so growing up myu friends were everything to me and believe me I did not have very many and so I cherished the few I did and Jenny and I were inseparable! It was so sad for both of us when she had to move away and then they moved so much after that I lost contact and I agree with your sentiments when it comes to the computer...Jenny found me through Face Book! It certainly was wonderful seeing her again today! :) ~Heavens~
