What payment schedule do you use for your car insurance?

Right now we pay monthly on our insurance so we get no break in between bills. We are thinking about switching to what is called 4 Pay, where you make 4 equal payments and get a break for 2 months. The two months where we don't pay for insurance we can use the money to help pay off the debt that we incurred with him being out of work. What do you do and why do you pay you bill that way?

We pay ours monthly, but every now and then i swear im gonna switch it to every 6 months, but i need to have the chunk of money at once to do so, and just never can seem to swing it. My hubbys work is the kind where he can get laid off do to lack of work at any given day or week, so its tough having the money all at once, but also stinks if he gets laid off and we struggle to get the money for the next months payment, so thats when i wish i had it paid already.

Do you have other payment options. I would love to pay every 6 months, but we don't have that kind of money just laying around. I am thinking of changing it to the 4-pay plan, where you pay an even 25% for 4 months and then get 2 months off.

Right now we are paying our car insurance monthly. Not because of preference, but because that is all we can afford right now.

I am going to try to switch ours around a bit. I think that even though we are paying a bit more every month that break in not paying will help us out a lot.

I pay mine every six months because I like having that break inbetween! I do think it might also be cheaper doing it that way.I pay mine every six months because I like having that break inbetween! I do think it might also be cheaper doing it that way.

We pay our auto insurance monthly. Its so much easier then to come up with it all at once. It would be nice if we could pay it all though. We would save money if we could do it that way.

I think the company we are with charges a service fee when you pay monthly (like $4) but it is added into your bill so you don't think about it.

we had ours like that but the company changed it so we just renew it every 6 months i missed those free months.. it did help to where we could put the amount we would have paid on insurance and pay extra on a different bill

Aw. That's rough. This is only the 2nd insurance company I have been with since I started driving. I know the company I use to have made you pay every 6 months. Thankfully the state we live din had super low insurance rates.
