http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200808.shtml Updated seller standards – minimum DSRs Finally, we're instituting a new minimum Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) requirement, as a way to further improve the customer experience for everyone on eBay. As of November 1, 2008, sellers will need at least a 4.3 across all four DSR categories, over the prior 30 day or 12 month period depending on volume, in order to list on the site. Today, only a small fraction of sellers fall below this threshold, yet they are responsible for a high percentage of customer complaints, which hurts you and our marketplace overall. We're urging all sellers whose scores fall below the 4.3 threshold to use the next two months to adjust their business models and/or work on improving their DSR scores. So if you go to your feedback and move your mouse over your stars, if you have below 4.3, eBay will boot you out and you can't sell anymore! YET they tell customers that a 4 is good!!! Ebay is really fumbling around these days and I don't expect it to improve. They've been losing money every quarter and they haven't figured out yet that they are taking it all out on the sellers. They should take a good long look at the real estate market. That's what happens when a market gets too lopsided. I think eBay is headed for a long slide down and it's their own damn fault.

I agree! They are supposedly making it better for the buyers, but it is the sellers getting the shaft! They haven't figured out when the piss the sellers off, they leave and there are less sellers to buy from! Buyers want everything at a snap of a finger. I have a 4.1 in shipping, eBay says a 4 is good, well, why are they now saying 4.3 is what we need to sell? I just don't get it! Buyers abuse what they can and the sellers are the ones that pay for it!

Yea they really need to take another look at what they are doing. I mean if all the sellers or at least the good one's get booted because of their ratings, what will be left! They have done everything to jeapordize the sellers and nothing for the buyers it just isn't right. It takes 2 instances of not paying before they do something to a buyer, but if we can't report it (feedback), then how will other sellers know this? They have made us blind to all of this information.

Being honest icy I think this is totally out of order and cant see how people will stay on ebay that long if their score doesn't match 4.3 especially if they get booted out for not having that score...its appalling..blessings littleowl

Hi littleowl, they won't stay. If they get below a 4.3, they can't sell and their store, auctions, etc are taken down by eBay! I know a few people who have been on eBay longer than me and they are closing their stores and going somewhere else.

There is just nothing to encourage people to leave feedback any more. If you were selling items and bought similar stuff why wouldn't you mark your competitors down to improve your chances at selling your own stuff? I bought 3 items last month and paid and got them but I didn't receive feedback for any of them from the sellers. They don't even bother any more half the time. People are also getting stupid with the amount they charge for shipping. They try to make their money off shipping alone. I am not sure why there isn't a policy regarding shipping in place. it would force bids higher if people charged reasonable amounts for shipping and higher bids would mean more profits for ebay.
