exercise leads to foot problems

I am so frustrated. I joined a fitness gym and have been trying to exercise on a regular basis. Now I am having foot problems! The doctor stresses exercise, exercise, exercise! Now I can't exercise because I have a tendon in my foot that is causing me much pain. For the next three weeks I have to have my foot wrapped whenever I am walking and take muscle relaxants. If that doesn't work, then I have to wear a special boot that will keep that tendon stabilized. Gosh you try to exercise to stay healthy and where does it get you? Do you exercise and if so has it caused you problems?

Stretch daily and remain active.Daily stretching will help warm up muscles to begin exercise and help cool down tired muscles after activities.Don't exercise until you warm up your muscles.Wear proper fitting shoes, wear thicker socks for more cushion.Always contact your doctor before starting an exercise program.Keep healthy.cheers...

I'm not too good about warming up. I guess I better start being more diligent. I do wear proper fitting shoes and socks though.

I'd like to think that before you went to the gym and geared yourself up to exercise, you had have the chance to look for good exercise shoes. If not, I think that is the root of your foot problem. There are so many kinds of shoes out there in the market that you would think any of those would do. But actually, NO. There are different shoes for different kinds of exercise, even if you are just going to exercise in the gym.
You have to consider what kind of exercise machine you are going to use. If it is the treadmill, then it is like walking. So you have to look for a good pair of walking shoes. And I have to emphasize the word good. For not all brands of shoes are comfortable to wear even if they say that they are walking shoes.
If you are going to dance classes in your gym, then that is another kind of shoes. There are now flat dancing shoes that you could wear anytime as well. Not just during your dance classes. So I think getting this kind of shoes would be practical since you wouldn't just be using it during your dance classes but everyday as well.
So stop, take a look at what you are doing and decide what you want to do. Exercise is good for you- if you are NOT hurting yourself while engaging in it.

I do walk the treadmill and before I started out at the gym I did go out and bought a good pair of shoes. They are comfortable, but I guess maybe they are the wrong ones.
