it hasn't been but a few days since i have gotten back from a vacation, and i don't see myself going anywhere else any time soon because of how expensive it is, i don't think that it will be any time soon like i said, so i was just wondering about all of you how soon do you think it will be before you can travel somewhere else, because as we all know prices on everything just seem to be going up and up and up and it doesn't seem to be coming down anytime soon...thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my discussion and i hope respond to it, and i hope that you all have a great day and the rest of your night is great as well!

Hi ya jhl930
Well I too have just got back from a short vacation from visiting a friend I haven't seen in 15 years. Next weekend I shall be taking my kids camping about an hour and a half from where we live, just for a couple of nights and it won't cost much - thankfully!

This summer I took my toddler son to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. I know that prices in Eastern Europe were lower that in Western Europe once but now most nearly all places in Europe are expensive. In 1990 it cost £2 for a room in Budapest and £13 for a bed in a youth hostel in Oslo. I met some Australians in Latvia and they found it more expensive than their home country. I think that if I fly out of Europe I will pay lots for my flight but less on accommodation, local transport, food and sightseeing in my destination.
Some countries are more expensive than others I have found whilst traveling. I think that the cheapest countries that I have been to are Guatemala, Indonesia and Samoa. The most expensive countries that I have been to are French Polynesia, the Maldives and the Seychelles. I found that staying in backpackers hostels in Australia and New Zealand made these countries reasonably cheap to travel around. I have heard that Thailand, the Philippines, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and India are cheap countries.
I love to travel overseas at least once a year. Travel is my top hobby so giving up on traveling because of high prices and extra fuel surcharges isn't something that I can do. I will plan a holiday for 2009 and currently I am trying to decide where to go. I thought about Canada in May or South Africa in November. There are cheaper destinations but I have to consider my toddler son. He will be 2 years old in May 2009. Decisions...

Yes, you are right. Prices are going up. I had been planning to visit countries in South America for quite some time now. I have been to many countries around the world, but never been to South American countries. I hope I can make it this time, may be to Brazil, Argentina, Chile.

I'm from the Philippines so I'd love to visit nearby Asian countries. I might go to Canada this year to visit friends and relatives. But I'd love to see Singapore, Japan, and Korea. I'm holding off Japan for now because I heard that everything there is so expensive. I can't even speak Japanese so it might not be a good time to go. But Singapore is definitely on my list of cities to visit. Outside of Asia, I want to go to New York, LA, Greece, and Paris.

I am very happy to say that I bought my ticket to Sweden a few weeks ago, I will be staying with my boyfriend for a month (December 6th- January 4th) on his family's island, where they have a guest house that we will stay in! I am sooo excited to see it all, he lives out outside of the capitol city, Stockholm, so he just takes a boat into the city every few days, his car is of course parked on the mainland haha. Not only will I see Sweden, we will also take a trip to Barcelona Spain and also Berlin Germany. I am saving all the money I can make so I will have the time of my life. It will be great to spend the holidays in Sweden and experience the great traditions. I will be present in Sweden with their advent days, St. Lucia Day, Christmas, and New Years! I will take so many pictures! Sometimes we just have to put our home life on hold and escape. Happy mylotting and happy future travels, have a great day/night also!
