http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26295713/ apparently there is a problem with people getting cremated and people/friends/relatives not picking up their ashes. so they either dispose of them or keep them in storage for a certain time or forever.. i think it would be the ultimate show of no one loving you if you were cremated (and everyone knew you were so its not like your body wasnt claimed) and no one caring enough to pick you up!! have you known anyone that didnt claim some ones ashes?? do you think its because its so emotionally hard that they dont know what to do with it and that they would like have a nervous break down just seeing the urn or something?? so sad

hi moonlit....i guess those places where they cremate them are becoming a new kind of graveyard then. having to keep the ashes on hand in storage. maybe they might need to change their policy that someone must be on hand during the process of cremation. to claim the ashes upon completion of the process. or they would go thru with it.

some people here state they just want their ashes scatteres around the gardens of the cemetery, I always feel sad when I see old photos at op shops, even wedding photos, I couldn't imagine throwing out my family photos...yes it is all very sad.

i couldnt imagine either.. my grandmother passed and she for some reason left everything to her pharmacist (can we say FISHY??) so we didnt get to even go into her house and get pictures or anything heirloom wise.. he just took over and tossed everything.. and her house was packed full of things.. my dad doesnt even know much of his history and she had all the answers hidden away in her safe and etc and we will never know things because of it

Oh that is so sad! I'd feel terrible knowing i didnt pick up a family member after having them cremated. i could see not picking them up IF the ashes were misplaced but as soon as i knew where they were I'd be on my way.

Even being hated isn't a good reason to be left somewhere. Thank you for the BR!

im guessing maybe they were severely hated or something.. at least i would hope there would be a reason why some one would ignore on purpose on picking them up but no reason is a good enough one though
