I started a new busines that invloves selling merchandise in various options such as fleamarkets, swapmeets, consignment, home parties and internet sales. I have about six hundred dollars into my business since July and that is actually very low. I wanted to start out slow and small to get started. My first swapmeet was awful. I didn't have the right products for this meet and interest was there buy they weere on motorcycles so I didn't sell a thing but I did get alot of interest. The drawing went well and i walked away with some contact names. The second meet is tomorrow at Harleys and Hotrods. I want to attend it and the cost is just twenty dollars. My husband said do what you want, I think it's a waste of time. I told him about my ideas for starting a home party option for my business and again he shot it down. He wants me to get a regular job and let this business idea of mine go. I still have two hundred dollars worth of product I need to sell. I tried to get him interested in helping wih the business as something we could do together but he says he wants no part of it. How do you handle a spouse who seems to want you to fail?

Since, I have met my husband 11 years ago, he always have been set on being his own boss. I was very supportive, even though I was spending out a lot of money and he was not producing any revenue. Whenever, I mention for him to get a real job, I become the bad guy, he will say, I do not have faith in him etc. etc. I have been the one with a real job, bring home a dependable pay check every week. In the interim, we are still spending money, (that we do not have) on this business that is not profiting. Well, I got laid off two months ago, so now there are two people not working, who needs to pay their bills. Not a pretty picture. I would say to you, go slow, just like you are doing, if you start seeing profits, stick with it, if you realize that it will take more time to kick off, lay back, work on what you need to do to make it more marketable, and then try it again later. I wish you luck
