'Colin' the Whale Should Australian authorities have called Japan....

to ask what to do? Afterall, the Japanese whaler ships were doing so much 'research'. How do you feel about the handling of the situation. Personally, I think it was yet again a bungling of who was going to do what. Almost like no one was going to let anyone else do a thing, whilst all were standing around with their hands in their pockets hoping some one else would. There were people who were prepared and ready to do, Marine specialists ignored because they were not part of government departments, vets who had made formulas ready to go. Local fishermen ready to lend a hand. Now the poor little bugga is dead. Wouldn't doing 'somthing' quickly be better than nothing? Bit like 1st aid really, if a person is going to die without help, then you jump in to do whatever you can, with whatever you can. I'm so sick and tired of authorities saying what we can and can't do, when they can't even get their act together. Shame, shame, shame.

yes i guess it was a difficult thing all round, I think a lot of people here in Australia treated the Japenese solution as a joke as it is a thought here the research thing is just an excuse to keep slaughtering these beautiful creatures, plus apparantly it is known known what sort of milk a whale could have, they said the wrong kind could have killed it but in my way of thinking they could have given it their best shot seeing as they killed it anyway...a very sad thing, I hope they have learnt something for any future incident...

Yes,well,I was being sarcastic refering to the Japanese. Yes,I also hope that something is learnt for future reference. It's just the fact that nothing was tried and others weren't allowed their input, that pisses me off. P,L,&MBs
