what is 'xoxo' mean?

i,m come from indonesia and my english is not too good, untill to day i'm not really understand about word 'xoxo', i cant find in my dictionary, what is really 'xoxo' mean?

the "x" hugs and the "O" kiss. i dont know why they choose those letter to mean tht, but its a shoter why of say hugs and kiss in a letter without have the word down many times.

It can either mean hugs and kisses or love and kisses. There has been disagreement whether the x or the o is the hug. It really doesn't matter.
