What I will do when there is no power ? Its a good question. In our place the current is getting tripped unnecessarily, yesterday my computer restarted more than 3 times as they were turning off the power and turning it on again continuously.I felt so angry, as my computer do not have an UPS.Its makes me run crazy when the power goes.Thankfully we have got an inverter at home so thats relaxing me.I can watch TV when there is no power.Happy myLotting

Ya thats sure that someone is making money with that. In our place only we have wind and rain properly. For us itself they couldn't supply power huh??? They must be definitely making money out of it. I have heard that it will increase to 12 hours in few weeks time. Lol. I will run out of this place. Hehe.

Hehe. Same here. Just now also it got started again for 2 times. Why do they actually want to off for just 2 seconds?? Thats really irritating. I will on the system again and will open mylot and again its gone. Oh my God!! Atleast you have inverter at home. I don't have that too. How come you are watching TV with that?? High load right??

Our Inverter can take up heavy load, its battery is 50A and it can deliver a lot of power.I can even run my computer with my inverter, but my system will restart due to micro second time difference in changing from main line to the battery line.I cant run my computer UPS with the inverter power.Thats why my system is directly plugged in to the mains. I dont understand why they are turning off the power for 2 minutes. Are they doing some maintenance work in that 120 seconds.I wonder what happened to the electricity which we were having in the last year. Some one is making money.

Unless I am in the kitchen and need to use an electrical appliance, I usually don't even realize the power is off (during the day time). My computer has a UPS and I have disconnected it. Don't want to be too dependable on the computer. I'm usually doing something...and if the power goes off in the night, the generator works and we have a light and fan that works in each room. I can always read or do anything else I want to do then.

Wow!! Thats better. We don't have generator at home. So I will have to sit simply when the power goes. Lol. Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

Usually during power cut, I usually will sleep or read book. I also don't like power cut. Without power, fan won't work and it will cause heat. I can't stand the heat. Power cut don't happen so often at my country. It happen only very few times. I rather have power cut on the day than on the night. I can't have good sleep if have power cut on the night.

Ya everyone does prefer that. But I am different I guess. I can't pass my time if there is power cut in the morning. I want to madly use my computer or TV. Hehe. So I prefer power cut during nights itself. Hehe. I will somehow manage to sleep. Lol. Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

to me, actually it is quite good. the last time we have a power cut, i brought my son to the park and we have a good time. it is also a good break away from home and computer. sometimes, this may be a blessing in disguise and i treat it as an extra opportunity to do things that i had always postpone previously. so may not be too bad after all. just look at it positively. get out of the house and it will be ok.

I think you are not aware of the timings that I have here. Ok I will tell you. Early morning from 6 to 10 we will have power cut and night 9 to 10.30 again. Where will I go at these time??? This is regular. Daily at this time we will have power cut. If I just go out daily at these times, I will suffer financially. Lol. Once in a while power cut is fine. This is actually too much. Now its 7 hours per day and it may increase to 12 hours per day in few weeks time.

Hi All, My home town is Kolkata, India...power cut does not happen frequently there. But currently in Orissa where power cut is a daily routine. We have made arrangement for a inverter which supports a tube light and a fan during power cut. In case the power cut is a short one there's no problem for me but if it's a long one then my laptops battery usually goes out and life becomes boring.. :(

Hi there, Yes we have similar problems in Bombay here. And its getting worse day by day. According to sources we may face 6-8 hrs power cut daily. Well as it occurs early in the morning say about from 7-to 10.30 i usally do my morning chores that time. Taking bath and shaving and all these morning chores and they dont need electricity . Then i got to go office and thankfully i have invertor there. Its a huge problem generating in India. If we dont check our population now then we are inviting many more trouble in the future too . Cheers, Tutul

Yup. You are right. Here we have power cut during nights and early morning. I think they are very careful in not letting us to sleep peacefully.

I would find a book or write something, maybe go for a walk and see what parts of town have electricity, most stores have their own electric generators (?) and so maybe go shopping then.

First In My Place power wont go in morning hours. Powercuts usually will be in the evening, that too again rare case. Ok whenever there is no power I listen to music in my Sony Walkman [Its kind of IPOD], also i have few movies stored in that. If not I will sit and draw few sketches,(I love drawing in fact), in worst case i will go for sleep... I love sleeping too. But i wont sleep too much, I cant sleep in odd hours too.
