At last,an Olympic gold for us..Bad news is...

At last, the Philippines was able to get a gold in the recent Olympics. The gold was care of the Wushu event. The bad news is that the event is only a demo sport. We were also able to get a gold medal from the past Olympics. It was through the bowling event. But again, bowling was also a demo sport at that time. (sighs!) When will we be able to get that gold? Hopefully next time, we will be able to do so..not in a demo sport this time.

Well that is too bad that the event was only considered as a demo. Well I am also expecting one or two before but when things were going on with the Olympics already I saw that there were only a few who could get one or two medals. i think our government should further the trainings and budget for these things to be able to at least get at par with this big country like the US, China, or Russia.

Well I think this is really everybody's responsibilities but I have to put more pressure on the government since they are the ones that manages th welfare of these athletes. Private sector does help them but the government is the one that directly manages these athletes than us private citizens and NGOs.

yeah. There is really a need for the government to further its support to our Filipino athletes! The sacrifice that these athletes have to make just to represent the country is not that light and easy. We also need to ask for help from private sectors and NGOs as well....Happy mylotting!

this is not mean that we are only good in demo sport but also to some sports but seems there more countries that who also good in sports. atleast we participate the olympics, one way of promoting our country specially if we are talking about Wushu.

If only Onyok wasn't cheated on his fight, we would have a gold to be proud of right now. Anyways even if it is only a demo sport, well it is such an honor for us filipino to win that event knowing that the tournament was in the host country of CHINA. Well, anyways Willy Wang, he's kind of a Tsinoy so...It's such a shame that we're constantly winning at demo sports but not at the main events. Still, there's many years to go, eventually we will be better, and hopefully even better than other athletes would have come to be.

Yeah. Onyok would have given us the gold medal if it was fairly judged. That's the downside of those events which need the judges for the point system. Being cheated in these kind of events are inevitable. Well, there's still many Olympics to come and more Filipino athletes to represent the country, so we'll just hope that one day,we will be able to kiss that sweet gold home. =)
