The popularity of "Tribute bands" is growing by leaps and bounds. I have very little knowledge about this phenomenon, but I am looking forward to an upcoming airing of one of the most popular ones on September 6th on PBS. The band is a Beatles knock-off, and certainly have the look and sound right, from the previews that I've seen. So, have you ever gone to actually see a tribute band perform? Who was it, and were they very good?

Ironically just before I split up with my ex we went to see an Abba tribute band playing at the Royal Albert Hall in London! My ex bought the tickets as a surprise for me for my birthday, because he knew I loved Abba, yeah I love Abba, but I don't like concerts, or crowds, I find them too noisy. The tribute band were very good I have to admit, and they sung like Abba, but I found it too noisy and I didn't enjoy the company which made a big difference for me. Had I of been with someone I chose to go with then I would have enjoyed it more, I was on a downer before I even went so I was biased about it.
