Do you ever wonder where life goes!?

August 23, 2008 3:03pm CST
I was getting into my car this afternoon and it suddenly occured to me how much i take ot for granted that i can drive, yet it only seems like yesterday that my poor mum was giving me lessons in my banged up old vw polo, and then i looked back and thought, goodness, not only can i drive, i've got a house as well - when did all this happen!??! It would seem i'm all grown up but can't really remember how it happened!! Do you ever think things like this, does time fly by for you as well?! xxx

I think I am definitely more inclined to wonder where the heck it WENT! lol. Like you I sometimes look around me and think how much has happened to get me to this point in my life. And I also sometimes wonder how things may have been different if I had of headed in different directions etc. I am living and working in a foreign country right now and it is the third/fourth one in a row I have worked out of; and within the next couple of months I will be moving yet again to my fifth! I sometimes think on what I would be doing if I had of stayed back home? Time goes so fast; and the older I get the faster it seems to go!

I remember when everywhere I went I was the youngest (wife) or (Mother) there and for years had a baby face and looked younger than I actually was. Now I look up and I am one of the oldest in the group and I am a grandmother. I have been married 3 times and raised my children worked a lot held the hands of dying family. I guess I have earned ever wrinkle and gray hair I have. I often look back and wonder where did the time go. How can I be this old and go through the things I have gone through how did all those years slip past me and what lays ahead it is a good thing we do not know what the future is. Hopefully we have learned from the past and can make wiser decisions now. I can look back and pick out the exact time I made a decision that affected my whole life and see if I had made a different decision my whole life would have been different.

It sounds as though you've done lots of things with your life! My mother says she looks in the mirror and doesn't believe she can really be the woman who looks back at her, she still feels as though she is my age and can't fathom where all the time has gone! i guess it's a feeling that most people share but i hope that when you look back over those years that went by so quickly you have a lot of happy memories and that you make a lot more in the years to come! thank you for the response! xxx

That all sounds very glamourous!!! It's good you're getting to experience of living in lots of different places and cultures though, it's an opportunity not a lot of people get! You're right about it going faster as we get older, i can remember thinking in the summer that it was ages and ages until christmas and now i think how fast it is approaching and how i need to get organised this year!! hehe xxx

Boy does the time fly. The worst part about it is you have to stop and enjoy it because if you don't you can't get those years back. I love to watch my kids make mistakes because those are the memories we will laugh about later on in life. Stop and smell the flowers was the smartest remark ever made:)

It certainly does! I think people that have kids all feel this way, i don't have any but i hope to find out for myself one day! Hopefully you will be able to laugh about those mistakes in the future, even if they are perhaps not so funny at the time! hehe I try to take the time to enjoy what i'm doing and make memories, but sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day! xxx

There never is enough hours in the day and the older you get the more time flies by so seize the moment and just ride the ride, LOL:)

Time does fly, and i have experienced it from the perspective of good and bad. Things have happened and the time has gone by. I've grown older and maybe a little wiser.

I'm sure you have got wiser as well as older, life teaches us lessons as we go along whether we realise it or not!! I suppose it can be good r bad when life goes quickly, there's just so much i want to fit into it, don't want it to fly by before i have chance!! xxx

All these are the imaginations and our thoughts. The human brain always work, while working, while kitchening, while writing, while reading, and so on what ever we are doing the brain si doing its job. This can also be compared to that of day dreaming. While we are doing physically some thing and thinking some thing else, that is why your employer will ask where u are when lost in thoughts. This is not the life where goes these our thoughts and our brain where go. Any way have a nice day.
