I've always wanted a Dog

Ive always wanted a dog. Unfortunately my mom doesnt like pets. Shes okay with fish though. Over the years my dad has brought different animals home(without my moms consent) like frogs, turtles, fish, a rabbit, and a cat. They all ranaway in less than a couple of weeks except for the cat. Ive had my cat for 4to5 years and im surprised i had him that long. My dad has yet to bring home a puppy. I wish my mom would let me get one. She says maybe in the future but im a few years 4rm going off to college. I wanted to know if anyone had a mom that wouldnt allow pets or didnt like pets?

My mother hates all animals so I was never allowed any pets at all, not even a fish. I begged for a dog throughout my whole childhood, but she never gave in!
Now I'm grown and moved out on my own I have two cats and I love them so much. I wish I'd been able to have animals sooner. They make a house a home in my opinion.

sounds like my mom. except my mom let me get fish but i had to clean the fish bowl.

It was so unexpected because my mom, sister, brother and I went to my grandma's for a week. My dad had to work. When we got home we all headed to our rooms but my mom went to the garage. She called us all down there to look and to our amazement there was a white kitten. She had no other choice but to agree to keep it. My dad fix appliances at peoples' houses and he met a guy who had a cat that gave birth to kittens. he told my dad he could get one and my dad chose the laziest but cutest one. Thats how we got our rabbit. (my dad also met another guy who had a dog that had puppies, but my dad declined partly because of my mom and partly because i have a cat.
