I just watched the Diary of a Mad Black Woman with Tyler Perry as the star. I'm a little perplexed about this movie. I mean, was it a romance, a comedy, or what? It did have its funny moments, that's for sure. I guess I would rate it a 2.5 on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. What about you, have you seen this movie? Did you like it? If you haven't seen it, do you want to see it?

Diary of a Mad Black Woman was Tyler Perry's first attempt in doing a movie. He got another guy to direct, Darren Grant, and he asked his fans to come out and support the movie, and on the last weekend of February 2005, millions of African Americans went out to the theaters and supported Tyler Perry by making this movie his first box office smash. It broke box office records that weekend. Because it was his first foray into motion pictures, it was good, but criticized by the critics of course. His next movies fared better, some didn't, but with his following of fans, it don't matter. They have made him a rich man, but also put him in God's favor. I don't think he would have gotten this far without him. I believe that.

one more notable thing, after Diary, he directed his own movies himself. just to put that out there.

Thanks for the "back story" about Tyler Perry's first movie. He seems to be pretty talented and a hard worker also. That's cool that his first movie was so successful. Thanks and take care.

I seen the movie, I've seen several of Tyler Perry's movies and I think they are all funny. I would say this is a comedic romance drama movie, it does have its funny moments, especially with Madea on there. I would rate it a 3. have a good day

I cannot stand Tyler Perry productions. I have to think there are surely some black people that find them annoying and /or even offensive as well.

Hey Ellie. Well, it wasn't the greatest movie, but it did have a couple of pretty funny moments. I am a movie lover and will watch almost any type except for war movies. Thanks for responding. Take care. Love that word, "huggles." Huggles to you.
