why do i cannot connect in the internet?

no internet connection - this is what firefox has to say when i open it.. no internet..

why can't i connect in the internet using vista?.. i keep on checking my LAN and the IP addresses and the router but i cannot see a problem.. When i tried to boot to Ubuntu, it did connect to the internet without a problem.. can somebody help me?..

it will be defend sir, is it a wireless or direct connection? if its your first time to connect using the vista please try to contact you service provider. If its a wired connection try to turn off everything, computer, router and modem. Turn on modem first, then router and then computer then check connection again.

may be that Ubuntu is not live CD I thought it is the size which fits in a CD but the original size of a Linux software is minimum 3-4 GB if you use that type of operating system you can get the network options so that you can get the Internet accessing.

maybe you didnt install modem drivers?

Perhaps you have to install the relevant drivers for your network adapter, as I did for my laptop when XP didn't have the drivers natively installed.
