I got cats in my house and i got lots of them, i pet them, feed them ( i dont bathe them of course) but none of them seem to do any kind of tricks.they're not even interested. some people say that cats are retarded and aren't as smart as dogs. but i don't think so !!!!!!!!!!!!!! they do tricks but i cant call them tricks because they do different tricks everyday. for example : if one day he gives me a handshake the other day he rolls over. i guess they juz like to do different things !!!!!!

I think cats are smarter than dogs. Cats can be toilet trained. My cousin's cat could say MAMA when he wants some food. How's that for a trick?

I heard it myself. And his cat will only say it when it wants food. How smart can it get? Anyway, I have los contact with him since he moved away from his family after he got married. Or else I would have asked him how he taught his cat. Pretty amazing, huh?

well yes cats definitely do tricks. i have watched a programme where the guy basically got his nine cats to do lots of tricks. exactly the way they did in the circus with other animals. things like walking on tight rope, jumping from one platform to another through a hoop and stuff. my cats will only do tricks when treats are promised. my domestic longhair does the walk-on-hind-legs trick the best. he'd do almost anything for treats so i usually get him to perform for guests. cheers ;p

Cats are definitely not retarded. I have 2 persian cats and you can check my profile or just by looking at my avatar. They are such a unique creature. My Garfield likes to sit buddha style while watching tv,my Fifi can do soccer by herself using my stress ball and sometimes I play soccer with her. Their favorite hobby is sleeping.Once they are tired from sleeping they will eat and then once they are tired from eating they will sleep...what a nice hobby and what a nice life don't you agree?I wish I could be like them. Have a nice day. pinksBEE

I have never met a retarded cat. In fact I think they are very intellegent. I once heard that cats are not our pets but we are theirs. How true is this? They are nothing like dogs because a dog wants and tries to please were as a cat doesn't care what we think. We are there for their pleasure only. I use to have a cat many years ago that would fetch a small mouse I use to throw for her and bring it back to me so that I would throw it again. I found that quite amazing for a cat. As for bathing, I always bathe my cats once a week. I find that it helps to keep there coats very soft and it removes a lot of hair so there is less shedding.

The trick is to know what the trick is...but like all good magicians, cats won't tell you their secret..they're to smart for that. Only retarded dog owners think cats are retarded. crazydaisy

Many people think that cats are not as smart as dogs are. but honestly, i don't know if cats are really less smarter than dogs. what i know is that cats can still perform tricks and they are totally not retarded.. cats can be trained to perform different tricks but the training may take longer compared to training a dog.. i think because dogs have closer relationship to humans than cats do. in fact, many trainers here in my country have successfully trained cats to do different tricks:)

ive had a few cats... and all they did was sleep, eat, and bathe themselves. to say they were lazy is an understatement. but i do think its possible to teach a cat tricks. but u gotta start when they're kittens

Yes, some cats do, they just have to be trained as kittens, also, cats are not stupid, they are stubborn and far smarter than dogs. Cats are independent, dogs always need people for survival. My cats know how to hug, beg for food, and kill other smaller animals and rodents.

I have seven cats and they all have different tricks that they do. Cats are definitely not retarded. All my babies are very intuitive and can pick up on anyone in the house being hurt or sad. It's amazing how these cats are. Liv

Of course they do if you teach them well, you have to be patient if you one them learned.
