Do you skip breakfast?

Nowadays time seems to go by so quickly. For people that go to work, do you make time to take your breakfast with your kids/family? Or are you the type that can't afford to do so to avoid getting caught in traffic and being late? What happens if your children skip breakfast too?

Yeah, I do skip breakfast, unfortunately. When I wake up, I only have time to take a glass of milk and drink it, without eating anything. Yeah, I'd like to have more time and have something properly, but for now it's not possible.

Hi falassion... Taking a glass of milk is good. I wish you could have more to perk up your energy for the day as you may need them too, but since you say "for now", this might mean that someday soon you may find time to have a little more for stamina for the day. Thanks for sharing...happy mylotting.

Definitaly I'm working on that. Maybe I'll achieve it by getting a job that I need to work less hours per day or so.. But I think it will take a time to do so. =)

Hi nabiha... I know your life may be always on the run and yet still yearn for as much sleep as you can so breakfast is something you can just take to go. I hope I could share some quick meal that you might cook for your breakfast but perhaps a bowl of cereals (or noodles?), or a platter of fresh fruits, or maybe a cup of good hot coffee with some toasts and poached egg would even be healthy enough for a breakfast that would give you enough energy to start your new day. I'm sure if you just give breakfast a chance it will "make your day". Thanks for sharing...happy mylotting.

Hi bbsr13... I hope I could enjoin you to take your breakfast. I'm wondering why you say you have retired when I note that you are still young?! Taking breakfast is like a perk up to the day ahead. When you awake and treat yourself to having even a simple breakfast it will surely mark your day with enough stamina to take any stress the day may bring...not that we want any stress in a day of course, lol. A cup of hot coffee, or chocolate, or tea, or a glass of fresh juice with any assortment of cereal, or bread, or rice and whatever you might have will surely pronounce a "ready" stance for everything the day may bring...will it not? I sure hope you can revive this in your daily waking up. Thank you for sharing...happy mylotting.

It's good that i am a stay at home mother. That probably is one reason why my husband doesn't want me to work.I make it a point to cook breakfast for my family.Specially for the kids as my husband would just drink his coffee then go to work.I really have to get up early even if i had only 3 or 4 hours sleep and prepare their food.

Hi misty99... Ahh the woes of being a stay-at-home mom...little sleep. But alas no despair because it is in every mother's heart to see that everyone is well taken cared of without much ado as to how tired we are actually. Sure as everyone is off to their whereabouts, we mothers know how to pamper ourselves soon after. I truly commend you for being a true mom. I know that your children and your husband appreciates your gestures of cooking breakfast...the most important meal of the day as everyone says. Keep doing what you do...my salute and compliments to you!!! Happy mylotting too...

I can afford to skip Breakfast only on Sunday or Holiday. Usually on working days I take my breakfast at about 9 and starts for my work place at 10. On Sundays and Holidays I use to do some help to my wife in house holding and we goes on with the morning tea and some eatables with tea. That at about 11 or say in the noon we use to have Brunch(Heavy Breakfast) and than in the evening. For kids they use to be with milk or milk shake and go to school and on return they eat some thing. To me they usually eat some thing with Milk and this is their breakfast.

It's funny how we take breakfast for granted and yet know the importance of having one. Perhaps you can take time to have breakfast with your wife and kids on the Sundays and/or Holidays seeing as you say this is when you can afford skipping breakfast. Your a fine husband to help your wife with some chores on these days or whenever you can. I believe spending some good time, eating together in a table as a family even if it is only coffee and milk for the kids will be cherished by your kids when they are grown up. Breakfast does start the day and it will add more warmth of feeling knowing you've started it with your family. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting...

I miss eating breakfast since my boyfriend/live-in partner started to work again. For 5 months he prepared breakfast for me,he was basically a house-husband and he cooks for breakfast,I want to eat rice for breakfast and I am not contented with eating breads or cereals,I want to eat rice. My boyfriend has work already so I don't eat breakfast now and just drinks coffee in the morning. But if it's his off,he wakes up early to cook for me and vice versa. Have a nice day. pinksBEE

Thanks pinks17 for sharing that. I guess you know how lucky you are to have someone cook for you breakfast. Perhaps you may surprise your boyfriend someday and begin preparing breakfast of him...then he'll realize he's lucky too...if he doesn't know it yet of course. However it may be, sharing breakfast with the ones you love is the essence of one's day. Try not to miss breakfast...a simple pot of hot cocoa or coffee and some buttered toast with jam or sausage or eggs will perk up your day especially if you have it with the one(s) you love. Happy mylotting...
