Hi Lovecoffin, Just 2 for me. Only English and Mandarin. I love to know more languages but it is just so hard to pick up new ones without the "from-young" education.

Before I proceed with answering your query, I'd like to comment that it was quite evident that you are a Chinese and you do know Chinese language because of your avatar. No offense meant, okay. In fact, I am absolutely fascinated by your language. Like most of your respondents, I personally am a resident of the Philippines and our national language is Filipino. And like you, my second language is English. But locally, we have several other dialects depending on what region we belong. My parents both hail from the province of Pangasinan and they speak Ilocano, which me and my siblings understand and speak fairly well enough. At present, I am trying to learn as much conversational Mandarin because my spouse and I have decided that one of us will have to work abroad for the family's welfare; our daughter's future education in particular. Moreover, I do believe in the principles of feng shui. Anyway, I'm about to leave the office now because I have already completed my eight hours in a day. Regards and bye for now.

I can speak 2 languages well and 1 language partially. As you can see I can speak english :) I am quiet good at written english but having problems while listening sometimes. I think it would be solved if I had the chance to make some more practices about listening but it is not easy to do if there are not native speakers around you. In the other hand, my native language is Turkish and I can both speak it in written language and spoken language. no problem at all :) Well, the partial one is Spanish. It has some similarities with english and even with some words in Turkish! That's really good to hear that the language you want to learn has some relationships with the other languages you speak. I am not a very good written or spoken spanish speaker. I need to greatly improve my both of the skills and I hope to do that next year because I will be too busy with my studies this year!.

I can speak Mandarin and 3 other Chinese dialects such as Cantonese, Hokkien (I think this dialect is called 'fu jian' in Mandarin) and Hakka (called 'ke jia' in Mandarin). Apart from that, I can also speak English quite fluently, as well as the Malay language. I'd studied Thai language for a few semesters during my university years. But I can only make simple conversation in Thai language. However, I've forgotten the Thai writing / script, as I've not practised it for quite a long time. About 3 years ago, I'd taken some Japanese lesson on part-time basis. I've stopped about 1 year ago, but I can still remember the hiragana, katakana and some of the commonly used kanji. I can still make some simple conversations in Japanese using correct grammar. But I can't remember the more complicated grammar part in advance level, unless I make some effort to do a little revision. Anyway, I managed to pass the JLPT 3 which was taken last year. I think being 'able to speak' and 'able to speak fluently' are 2 different things. Unless you have the chance to practise the language that you're learning, or else it's going to be difficult to master any language.

I'm from the Netherlands, so ofcourse I speak dutch. When I was 10 I started to learn English at school. I don't speak it perfectly, but I can save myself in an Enlish speaking country. I also speak german. It isn't very hard for me to learn that because It's looks like Dutch a lot. I can speak French and Spanish a little bit, but I think it's really difficult. Wat I wanna learn is Norwegian, I love that language.
