I can't wait to begin my camping trip. I have got my tent, sleeping mat and sleeping bag ready. I have sorted out so warm clothes and a torch. my toddler son and two dogs will be coming with me. We hope to camp by the coast in a fairly rural locality. It will be a lovely way to spend the August Bank Holiday. If you went camping for three days where do you think you would go?

Hi, Maxi. I'm sure that you and your son and two dogs will have fun camping. If I went camping for three days, I would go to a state park that is nearby. There is not one in the county where I live. I know there is a state park in each of the surrounding counties, though. I would take my tent, chair, roll-out cushion, blankets, a pillow, my little portable table, and cd player/radio. I would also take food that is portable and in individual packaging. While at the state park, I would go to the nature center. I like to see the information of all the animals and birds that are local. I like to watch the birds that are at the feeders there, too. I would definitely go for a walk on a trail that leads to a creek. I like to listen to the water while it runs over rocks. There might even be a chance that I would see a deer while on my walk.

Hi Blue Ruby Moon. Thanks, we had an excellent time camping. My dogs enjoyed the coastal walks and we had a lake where bird life could be viewed so that was very enjoyable. My toddler son went to sleep early each evening and I had my dogs with me so I couldn't go on a badger watch that many of the other campers loved going to. I really like your idea of an enjoyable camping trip.

This sounds like it will be a lot of fun! I have never been camping before but would love to try it someday. I'm not sure where I would go but as long as there where no wild animals and insects around then I should be fine, lol.

Yes, it was so very much fun. My dogs barked when anyone walked past my tent. My son's travel cot fitted next to my sleeping bag perfectly. In the past I have camped in Kenya and did hope not to be close to any wild animals. In Australia I camped and saw many insects and remember protecting my food from bush rats. I hope that you go camping one day and enjoy this very much.

Hello my friend Greenline. Thanks for wishing me a nice camping trip. I had an excellent time camping in a quiet campsite in the countryside with a coastal view. I met some friendly people there and went out for days to local places. I am sure the Rocky Mountains must be really beautiful and I would love to see them one day.

I think you live in the states so I would be going to a much different camp site than you. I have gone camping a few times this year with some friends and we went to a lake not far from home. It only took us a little over an hour to drive there. Most of the camp sites in my area don't have water as there are very few lakes around here. I used to live in Manitoba and we had thousands of lakes mostly up north but we used to go camping every weekend. We would sometimes go to a lake that took us five hours to drive to but it was nice because it was remote and we usually had the place to our selves. We never camp in a camp ground but by some remote place in the bush close to the lake or river. When I say we, I am talking about my husband and I. Our kids are all grown and don't go with us anymore. When they were young we then camped in camp sites because it was more convient. Was it just the three of you, you and your kids? I never took my kids camping by ourselves because I was just too afraid to. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good day, Chris

Wow, camping! That would really be a great experience! The only time I went camping was when I was in highschool. I was a member of the Girls Scouts then. And the camping was not even in a remote place or something like that. It was just an overnight camping on the school grounds. It was a big school. We were camping out in the field used for track and outide ball games. It may just be the same place I went to everyday, but I have never been in school overnight so it was a great experience for me that time. I would love to do camping again. Eventhough I am not much of a camper, I like traveling and going places. Experiencing new things is something that I look forward to everyday. Camping would be another experience especially if it is someplace that I have never been to. I wouldn't know what to do yet or where to go but definitely, if I ever decide to go on a camping next summer, I would browse through a lot of camping guides.

You had a great time camping then when you were a Girl Scout then. I hope that you go camping again to a location that you haven't been to before. Then you could enjoy exploring the surrounding area. Yes, I saw a book suggesting the coolest camping sites and inside there were some amazing photos. I love traveling and suggest New Zealand as a wonderful country to go camping in along one of its fantastic tracks. Thanks for your excellent response.

The name of the camp site I used to go to is Paradise Lakes, I really miss it. I have not gone camping in probably three years. It is usually me and my husband, actually the last time we went we took my God son, and our cat Jake. We bring our tent, air mattress, sleeping bags, clothes, lots of food and drinks, fishing poles, even though we never go fishing. My husband likes to pack up everything, whether we need or use it or not. I think four days is the longest we have gone. We used to go to the Nascar races every July, and would camp out in Pa, so that we were closer to where the race would take place. Usually on the week end, the camp was filled with racer fans, and everyone would have a great time. Be safe and have fun

The Paradise Lakes must have been a wonderful place to camp. It was lovely that you took your cat with you last time you went camping. I had a safe and enjoyable camping trip in Devon. The campsite had a sea view and it was in a rural position. It even had a baby changing room so that was great for my toddler son.

I love camping, although I haven't even had a chance to go camping in the last few years. WE used to go camping several times a year and it was just great and if I went camping for 3 days I would certainly go somewhere with a lake - since ocean would be asking for too much in here for that short period of time -. I have a few campgrounds that I really like to go to here in Ontario, so my choices would be for either Sauble Falls, The Pinery or Turkey point. They all have wonderful lake beaches and are some of my favorites in here. Pinery however has beautiful sunsets so maybe that would be choice number one LOL

With the money we have right now, our back yard, but this year, the citronella candles would have to be in tiki torches all around the outside so the bugs would stay away, we're trying not to get eaten alive here!

Hi,maximax8.I have no experience to camp out.It must be a wonderful felling that being out among nature and far away from everything, just stay with my lovely families. If I go camping,I think I will choose a dell where are trees, flowers and of course a small rivulet. It will be better if the water is clear and we can see the fish swim freely. Hope you have a nice vacation.

We started camping when my youngest son was only 2. I went to Kmart, bought a 3 room tent, borrowed some stuff from friends and headed to the Jersey shore. 9 seasons later we are seasonal campers at a wonderful place near Avalon, NJ. I am partial to the shores, love the beach, so that is where I would go.
