Are holidays or vacations important in your life?

I really love to travel and so far I have visited many different countries. I can't imagine not going on holiday at least once a year. This year I took my toddler son to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Last year I took him to Portugal. Many people stop traveling once they have children. Some people are worried that the cost of fuel is increasing, Are holidays or vacations important to you? If so why? Did you go on holiday or vacation this year or will you? If so where? If not where would you like to go?

THey used to be. I used to travel a lot and also just go somewhere to stay for some time. It was relaxing and recharging. Lately I take what I can get. THere are many years that we haven't had a change to have a vacation, and even occasions where it certainly wasn't the vacation of choice. Vacation time can be many thing to me. THere's the energy spender vacation where I plan many things to do and see and end up coming back home happy but even more tired than when I left. And then there's the super calm, relaxing vacation where I really have the chance to recharge all batteries and come back ready to a new work year. I did not go on a vacation this year.. come to think about it my last -semi- vacation was in 2002. SO I"m really due to a nice one. WHere would I like to go? Well my batteries are dangerously depleted. I wanted to go somewhere by the ocean - not a busy place , more like a quiet not too many frills place where I could just breath in the ocean air, swim as much as I wanted, relax, read a book, swim some more, sleep and enjoy. No shopping, no adventures, no big exercise - except swimming, did I mention that? LOL No night life - except nighttime swimming and romancing :) - no big dinners, no complicated food, no formal clothes - actually bathing suit only would do:) - just some calm and a nice time with hubby - and kids if they wanted to go.

I am one of those who stopped traveling when i had my daughter... but that would change in the future... i already have a new passport... and i even got one for my daughter... so it is just a matter of time... and a little saving of money... and i can travel again... but this time with my baby in tow... i would love to go to Hong Kong disneyland... i am sure she would enjoy that...

Hi friend,I love to take a holiday with my family. But we visit places in our own country.Taking holiday is essential to each and everyone. The whole year we work and lead a monotonous life.sometimes we become exhausted in both mind and body.We need some kind of relaxation.Even the children love taking holiday and touring. They are very much excited in touring and equally we too are excited like children. We need an outlet,so we take tours often whenever time permits.I love to go to hillstations in our country.Bcoz thats calm ,peaceful and the weather is apt to enjoy. After coming back you would feel refreshing and great. Thanks for sharing.Happy mylotting.

Holidays and Vacations is important to me coz,it is the only time that i can visit my family in the province and my kids do enjoy to visit my relatives especiallly on summer. This is the time that my kids enjoyed swimming and bonding time with their cousins. It just happened only once everytime summer comes.Summer vacation is for my love ones and also a big break for me to rest and enjoying together with my family.I do love to travel, going to beaches and visits the natural tourist spot here in the philippines.

Yes my friend, holidays are very important for me, especially when they are to new places, travelling broadens your horizons and your experience of the world and life and you discover new experiences, adventures and sample different cultures, foods, and meet new people, it is a wonderful thing to do and I hope to do much more travelling in the future. This year I just went to Dorset for 10 days with friends to my retreat, I went on a big holiday to Rhodes last year which was absolutely wonderful. I hope to go to New Zealand in 2010 and possibly Sweden 2012 if things work out ok and I can afford it, depending on my circumstances.

Every Christmas time, we used to always attend the family reunions happening in the province; particularly consisting of relatives in my mother's side. Until now, it's still a tradition in our clan. But sad to say, ever since I got married, our holiday seasons are spent and divided between going to my parents and to my in-laws. Say, if we celebrate Christmas with my parents, we'd certainly be with my in-laws during the New Year. I find it quite more expensive and exhausting since me, my husband, and our daughter make a lot of trips to and from her grandparents. For this holiday season, I have a feeling that it will be quite different because I guess by that time, either I'm totally displaced from my present job or we're going to be so busy wrapping up the business. So, I still haven't made any plans for this year because I'm still not sure of what's happening next in our lives, because of this status of my job. All my life it's been so hectic during these times in our families. I do hope that someday, when we finally have our own house and parcel of land in the province, we'll be able to spend some solemn family time with only me, my husband, and our daughter during Christmas. Or for a change, it could also be that our relatives will be the ones to visit us in our own house during holiday season.

Yes, it is very important to me. However I don't always have the extra money to do so. I have 4 children so things are quite expensive for me, whether it is grocery shopping, clothes, shopping, etc. I do like to take a trip once a year with the kids somewhere. This year we drove out to California to visit friends and family. My father-in-law still lives out there so it was wonderful for the kids to see him and for him to see the kids. I enjoy travelling and sometimes my husband and I will go on a trip together without the kids. We went to Argentina a few years ago and I loved that! I would love to go to Europe one day, but I don't think I will be able to afford to take all the children with me, besides I don't think they would be interested in seeing the same things my husband and I would be interested in. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

We take vacation twice a year - once in the spring, and again over the Christmas holidays. Both are to visit family several states away.

Yes, family holidays can be really enjoyable. It is wonderful to visit a country and see a festival like 1st July is Canada Day and 4th July in American Independence Day. I had a lovely holiday in Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia. I really liked seeing historical Kator.

Its nice to have something to look forward to and plan for if you have the money to do it. I think everyone needs a break from their life even if its a short one. I think you would come back less stressed and able to do better with everything.

I like travel, which will enrich my mind. However, I will have less and less time to travel. It is really a pity! I like holidays too. The holidays are usually too short. How time flies!

I love travelleing and even work in travel so I can do it at a reduced cost! However due to money issues I don't get to travel nearly as much as I want to but agree that I like to go away at least once a year. I think I wouldn't enjoy travelling as much when I have children as to be honest I prefer the compnay of my husband alone and we love our romantic breaks and do do things that wouldn't be possible wth young children so certain trips would have to be put on hold until they were older. Also I do think the cost is an issue but one day when we don't have as many money worries I would like to travel much more!!

holidays - snow and pine trees
Hi! Oh I'm not into travelling. I hate sitting long hours to get into my destination. But I love the holidays! Especially Christmas cause that's the time when me, my famiy and relatives get together for our family reunions and spend the night until Christmas time. It's usually done every December 24. Kids and adults alike always look forward for that day cause its really really fun. Personally when I have to spend a vacation I just spend it at home with my family. Its less tiring for me. Ciao!

Holidays are very important for me. I actually need a break from my regular schedule. It helps me concentrate more on my work. Whenever I came back from my holidays my colleagues and friends do tend to tell me that I tend to become more positive in life and become more vivacious. I think you should always take break from your schedule and enjoy it to the fullest.
