i am a nursing student and i will soon be graduating. i am actually choosing between working in a military hospital or in a psychiatric because im pretty much interested with something that nurses don't usually choose. i love caring for people and i really wanted to go for the one that most people would be needing. where do you think nurses are most needed? caring for the sick and injured soldiers or those with mental disorders? All comments would be greatly appreciated. thank you! :)

hi kristin, that's a difficult choice. i think nurses are really needed at both places. it depends on your preferences. do you prefer help curing physical or mental injuries? for me, if i am to choose amongst them, i will choose the psychiatric. at least i will look most normal there btw welcome to mylot

Hi! First of all, I would like to compliment you for being a true nurse at heart. And of course, those two special areas are really where nurses are tested to their dedication to the service. I know both areas need nurses but I think people with mental disorders need the help of nurses better. Even though soldiers need nurses too, mentally ill patients need more dedicated nurses because it is truly hard to take care of them, especially someone who is not in a lucid state. It takes dedication to take care of them and I'm sure it will be suitable for you. I wish you the best of luck in your nursing career Florence Nightingale!
