How does your emotion affect your driving?

Every time we go out on the road, we encounter different situations and there are a lot of times as well when we really have different moods when we are behind the wheel. More often than not, I drive the way I feel. If I'm happy, I drive moderately fast and sort of just cruising along the highway, smiling. When I'm angry, I tend to lash it out on the gas pedal. When I'm sad, I drive really slow and a few times, I have very short attention span. Then, when you encounter a bad driver that cut you off intentionally and you notice you feel different and more aggressive. How about you? How does your emotion affect your driving?

I mostly cruise along, whether happy or in a neutral mood. However when angry or rushing for time, my reflexes tend to be sharper. I'd overtake cars, negotiate sharp corners, cut in and out of traffic without hesitation - things I won't do when rational!

Yeah, it does happen. if the emotions are high, I tend to do that as well. I cut in and even do a few stunts like negotiate corners at high speeds. But I really have more control when I have passengers. I oftentimes do something bad when I'm alone. Take care!

My mood often does affect my driving if I am happy or in a hurry I will drive a little faster than normal to get where I am going,if I am sad I will drive extremely slow, and if I am pissed off I will speed like a bat out of you know where, and I will get road rage like crazy, and I will cuss at and honk my horn at the cars who piss me off, even though that does not happen a lot,and I am glad because I know it is wrong to drive like that.

Yeah, that's totally true. We should still be careful even when our emotions are high. It's hard but we can do it. I also honk my horn a lot when I'm angry or disappointed. I try to be calm though as much as possible but I can remember one incident when I was really angry and just sped up. I reached the office that time in just 4 minutes when it usually takes me 15-20 regularly. Take care!

Hi Moon! That's really good, you can still concentrate well even if you're angry. I do tend to speed a lot and my hands and feet feel heavy when I'm angry. I admire your control over your anger. Stay safe!
