Maya Angelou is a lady of 70+ years and on her last birthday she had some profound and down to earth statements that we can all live by Now and when we get to be her age!
Regardless of what your relationship with your parents was... you will miss them when they are gone.
Making a living is not the same thing as making a life!
Whenever I decide something with an open heart...I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains...I don't have to be one!
Every day you should reach out and touch someone. People need to be touched.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn!!
I've learned that sometimes you get a second chance!
People will forget what you said...people will forget what you did...but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Shalom! Maya Angelou is one of the most incredible women ever! She had such a horrible life, and grew to be an amazing scholar and writer and philosopher and role model and so much more. The things you quoted seem so simple, but it took this great woman to articulate them. We are truly blessed to have her among us. I try to live up to her standards, and that pretty much means living up to my own standards.
