My boyfriend and I live in a 3door apartment and we chose the 2nd floor with 2 bedrooms,a living room and a kitchen,it's quite big for just the 2 of us.My neighbors downstairs is composed of a family and we are not friends with them,I guess I will consider it we are just acquaintances. As much as possible we avoided making friends bec. we don't want to hear gossips and I guess we value the term "privacy"..It's actually good to be friends with neighbors but with our(my bf and i) kind of work our time together is important and we need to sleep if we have the chance to do it. A simple Hi and Hello will be fine for me to greet my neighbors if our eyes meet but to stop and have some chat with them I can't do that bec. I know what I am going to hear...they gossip about the neighbors whereabouts and some other stuff.I know they talk about us as well but I really don't care.As long as I don't personally hear someone say something bad about me and my boyfriend that's fine but if I hear one...they don't know who they are messing around with. Have a nice day to all mylotters. pinksBEE

Hi pinks17, i am friends with my neighbours. But the frieddship is limited to hello, hi or a small chat. Once in a while they come over or i go to their place. Its not because of any gossip, its due to time constraints. When a pesron is working it becomes very difficult to meet people as you don't even have enough time to spend with your own family.

My neighbours exchange pleasantries in the common areas or outside. Seldom would you see someone going to visit a neighbour, if at all. It appears that some people in the neighbourhood are friends or have children that play together. In some cases we meet as pet owners but most of the time people keep to themselves. The luxury of privacy is a distant stretch for some. Friendly is welcomed but intrusion and gossip can stay outside the door.

Neighbours come and go, where I live. Right when you get to know one set of neighbours, they move to a new place. I've been here for 7 years, and that's some sort of record, in this building.
