U know what? My major is medical science. I will become a doctor. However, all these years I have been scared of hospital. I am scared of facing death. As an intern, I surffer when the patients surffer. Tomorrow, I will have a thorough physical examination myself. Of couse I will be very helthy. Notwithstanding, I hate being examed since I am scared of making examination of people. I am scared they are really ill. I don't want to become a doctor. I go into medicine because I want to be good. I go into medicine for the rush, for the high, for the ride. But what I remember at the end of most days are losses. I regret for my major though I would like to save lives. However, I am a coward. I get good marks in my university. Notwithstanding, I want to quit. I really can't make it. Are u scared of hospital? Are u scared of seeing a doctor?

Well dear, you are not a cowheard and you are in a very noble profession and a doctor is next to God. You are hearing this from non other than a fellow doc. Its usual to get such feeling because the field of medicine is like that. I used to get scared when reading certain topics and would feel I was suffering from such things and the next day I would go to my college and get checked by my proffesors. But everything would be good. I had the fear of hospitals in my childhood and would not like the smell of the hospitals. I did not want to become a doc because of the smell in the hospital. I really dont know how I got into it. Now I am here finding it little bit tough as a carrer compared to others but an Elephant is an Elephant and surely the success is going to come as time goes on. Hope to have a very long disccusion in this matter.

To become a good doctor, I have to think like a doctor. Cut, Suture, and close! But sometimes, u r faced with a cut that won't heal. It is pretty sad! Also, u will suffer agonies of remorse at the time. I think I am not qualified. Some people will just fit the post. I admire them. Thanks for ur response. Best regards!

Yeah, I have choices. If I didn't even have a choice, I wouldn't be so confused.

Surely, I prefer staying away from hospitals. I don't really like how it smells and the sounds of things inside it. Also, I don't like the mood that a hospital has.. Looks like it's an eternal tension, and it doesn't makes me feel well. Finally, I'm not a very tolerant person when it's about blood and needles.. So yes, I can say that I'm a little bit scared of hospitals. ^^" Otherwise, doctors are one of the professions that I most admire in the whole world. You got to be really good to be a good doctor, 'cause you have to study a lot and be brave to face a new day of work without knowing what may happen on it. Then, because of it, I congratulate you for your choice. =)

hey hiddenwing~ u r going to be a doctor! Thats sooocoool~ you are going to be like Grey in Greys Anatomy! and maybe u r going to encounter your Mcdreamy! I always admiring the doctors, u know, every movement u make in the ER are saving people's lives! But as for me, im really scared of hospital and the horrifying "white" all over. Your panic is normal for an intern. But trust your instinct, you are going to be just fine~

I doubt my instinct. Real life isn't not as fabulous as people imagine. Thanks a lot!

No,I'm not scared of doctors, although my husband seems to be. I have a chronic disease (MS), and have to see a neurologist every 6 months. Hospitals are another story with all the staph infections, and there's this super bug, MSRA, I believe it is called. I do not want to have to be admitted. You do not have to be a hospitalist, or even an MD. You could be a dentist, good pay, and the hours are much better. You could be a radiologist or a therapist. There are, it seems, hundreds of occupations in the medical field. Maybe sports medicine would be to your liking. In that field, you would probably only be seeing healthy patients.

hi hiddenwing! i admire your courage in that profession. If i may share my point of view, i think since you have already started that, why dont you finish it. Because i believe that some doctors and nurses, experienced the same feelings that you have. but they still push through, so i DOnt give up!

My parents wanted me to become a doctor because I'd have a high professional status but I decided that it was best that I didn't become one. I hate hospitals and doctors because I don't like needles and blood. I don't think I have what it takes to save people. Being a doctor is not an easy job.

It is a shame. Few Doctors are really like HuaTua. Traditional Chinese medical Science is not so supernatural. I hope it will make a progress and become better. In order to act as a magic hand that restores health, it is hard. Best wishes!
