That's how long it took for me to find a job. It's been the longest 147 days of my LIFE! The worst part? I can't work until the background check and my drug test have come back clean...and we're headed into a holiday weekend! ARGH!
But now....I have a job working again. It's not even full time, or with a set schedule or times yet. The woman thought I'd turn it down because of the pay (a whopping $7.25 an hour--I haven't made that little since 1997?) and I said to her, "it's more than making NOTHING, isn't it?" I knew it would be low, nut I haven't worked for minimum wage since I was 16 years old--20 YEARS AGO THIS MONTH! 
I so have to look for something else...I'd have to work the entire month just for my car payment! ACK! And they expect me to live off of this?

Good for you, I know your pay is not much, but from nothing to $7.25, that's a start. I am looking for work too. I was laid off two months ago, I am getting antsy, about how I am going to pay my rent next month, which is only a couple of days away.
I am collecting unemployment, but it is not enough to take of my bills. I have never had bill collectors call me, but I better get prepared.
I saw on Career builder, where the job I used to work for a year ago, has an opening, actually it is the same position I had before I left. I left on good terms, I hope the consider me, but you never know. I will pray for you to get a better job and please pray for me. It seems like we as a nation are all in this together, sad to say.

Thank you for your kind words! This is hard for me-- I was self-employed but my business is going through a real slow time (and now nothing); prior to this I was a graphic artist! This is a huge step down but at this point I really can't complain too much. If you get stuck for a job, I recommend this website: www.allretailjobs.com--I found a bunch of different jobs to apply for that I would have never heard of! Good luck to you and thanks!
