I just finished watching syriana(2005).I thought I share my feelings before they get mixedup and diluted.words are simply not enough to describe how i felt while watching this film. But i'll make an attempt. It is a powerful thriller that holds ur intrest right from the word get go and never lets off until the last moment.Themetically it is about the influence of the big oil on a wide range of people - a CIA operative,an energy analyst, an Attorney and a Pakistani migrant to the middle east. This last one is really a poignant tale of how innocent migrants(from pakistan) to the middle east are turned into suicidal terrorists with a promise of matyrdom. The entire thread involving them is in urdu and accurate one at that. There are several charecters, none superflows, and multiple threads, but all tying neatly into a coherent script.the cast comprises of an obese George Clooney (who won the best supporting role oscar for this role and Matt Damon are the two well known faces along with several veteran artists.I will definetely recomend this to anyone who likes first rated thrillers woven around real issues and presented in a realistic fashion and provoking thought in the viewer's mind.
