I am afraid of rain

You must remember we need rain for the flowers and trees to grow, rain refreshes all that is outside and beautiful. Thunder can not hurt you,but I can see where you can be scared,i also have been through a bad storm, when I was younger that nearly killed me, so when I hear it is going to rain, I look to se if thereis any severe weathere associated with it. I do not like lightening. As it is so dangerous any more. I remember wehn we was young children, we could go out in the rain and ride out bikes in the rain, with out worrying about it being a severe storm. When there is a really bad storm in the area I go do something that needs to be done, usually in the other side the house, where I can not see and before you know it it has passed.

Oh I understand why you have been traumatized! That was a scary experience and I understand why it is still affecting you. That was a strong storm that hit your place. It's good you were safe! That was a strong typhoon I presumed. But I hope you soon forget the trauma.

I am actually basing it in the username you used here and honestly, when I first read your name, I was smiling from ear to ear. Anyway, here in the office, we have noticed that there are dark clouds outside but the rain hasn't fallen. I am just thankful that I brought my umbrella along with me this morning. I was about to leave it at home when a thought came to my mind. Just a couple of weeks ago, I really had a hard time when the heavy rains poured. I had my umbrella then but it was really raining cats and dogs. The streets were even flooded. If I'm not mistaken, it was on a Thursday afternoon. In fact, I was on sick leave the following day. In comparison with your experience, thank God I haven't gone through this kind of situation. Personally, I do love rainy days just as long as it doesn't mean a typhoon or disaster. Back in my college days, one of my female peers and I used to go malling during rainy days, but after classes. For one, it isn't as crowded because there are less people gallivanting or strolling during this time.

Your being afraid of the rain is a natural reaction of your mind and insticts as till to date you have not forgotten that bitter experience you have went through in your past. All I can say to you is that you must try to carry on with life. This doesn't mean that you forget your past and its memories because people who forget their past have no future. Reason, when they forget theri pasts, they also forget all which they have learned from it, the mistake and everything so no future for them. You must be positive and carry on. I am only scared of the big storms because they cause huge destruction and cause many deaths.

yeah you are right,the rain is felling hard and it seems the thypoon is here in manila already.lets pray and hope that it will not lead su to harm.

hi pehpot, what a scaring moment but you are great. you have the great way on surviving rainy days: being on mylot. being here, instead of being scared, you are earning money and making friends :) i like rainy days actually, especially in the night. i feel the sound is relaxing. i can concentrate well when it is raining. maybe because the sound of the rain overpower the other sounds. in the night, rain make me sleep better than if it doesn't rain.

Sure it will! Don't worry! I understand! Me, on the other hand, I am so scared of snake! I wish I will never meet a snake!

Hey there, I wouldn't say I am SCARED of the rain but I definitely do feel SAD and as though my heart shrinks everytime it's raining. I usually sleep during rains so I do not care about it too much.

Maybe your afraid to the typoon not rain, hehe. You know me I love rain like just a little drop of water but when typoon I really hate that because I know there will be a lightining that I really don't like. When I'm using computer and typoon comes I have to turn off the computer.

Dont be afraid. It will soon be over. I too had bad memories of storms and hurricanes twice and know how it feels. It will soon be over even before you realize it. Take care

even me.. the worst part is the lightning strikes!!! my heart starts ponding when it strikes.. it feels like its falling on your head!!! moreover i switch off all the electronic devices!! be it the tv,mixy, pc, or anything for that matter!!!

The rainy days are one of the best days for me, because I like to hear a drops falling, this sound is very relaxing (at least for me), but I have to say that I did not have any traumatic experience during rainy days. In order for you to go through the rainy days easier, try getting on your bad, close your eyes and star thinking of the drops like some music created by the nature, it might work. Remember try to relax no matter how difficult and scary it is for you. The rainy days will alweys be there, whereas the fear could be gone as long as you try. Best regards

It seems that I had no such feeling in my life by now, maybe we have no such a big and strong rain like you there ,but the saddest thing when it's raining is inconvient to go outside ,that is what I care about most ,just kidding

hmmm actually i love rain.but sometimes its going hard and the roads'll become a nightmare to us then.the roads w'll be flooded then nd cant walk anywere throgh.

i'm also scared of rain... especially if it comes with thunders and lightnings... i never comfortable with rain and storm... hopefully the rain in your area will stop soon and you will be safe... take care and have a nice day...

Well I love rain but if you wil talk about thunder then It will be a scary thing for me.When I hear some thunder and lighting,I usually turned off all the electricity so that I will be safe.:-0 GOd bless and have a nice day

i can see why u are afraid of rain. i am too when it is raining really hard and it starts thundering really loud. i go and hide under the covers.

I'm completely the opposite, I love the rain and I love to dance around in it, it just feels so good. It's like the sky is having a party for you and you're the only one invited. Try thinking of it in a different way and try not to associate storms with disaster.

I think if you are so afraid of the rain you should find something that makes you comfortable other than typing, like call a friend,or basically anything that will take your mind off the rain and try moving all the furniture from windows. I don't think it would stop you from being afraid of the rain, but it might help you to feel much better while the rain is falling.
