Why do we forget to thank the ones we love the most?

Almost all of us say thank you to show our appreciation, to express our gratitude towards others. "Thank You" is a Magical word as it does wonders to the person who receives it. Every day we say this magical word many times and to many people, but do we thank our loved ones everyday. The ones who selflessly love and care for us every day, every moment. I mean our parents, our spouse, our brothers, our sisters, our children. Why is it that we take their efforts for granted whereas thank strangers for the same?

Because they are special people who understand us, no words can describe what we fill to them just a smile, a nod, a hug can express our feeling more the thanks that can be said. Our loveones is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future and a GIFT given by God to stay and care.

I agree but sometimes we just have to say it and believe me it will make them very happy.

We should try to be grateful for all things in life and not just family! I think that we become somewhat lazy when it comes to thanking those close to us because we pretty much assume that they KNOW what we feel already! We need to keep in mind that they probably DO know how we feel yes; but a little positive reinforcement now and then certainly can't hurt!

It's cause we see them everyday that we take them for granted. I suppose we think that it it is understood that we appreciate their help, and don't need to express it? Which is sort of a shame. Now that I've read this, I'll go say thanks to someone in my household.
