My wife and I are baby boomers and yes we do love to travel. My wife has traveled more that I have and she also has a education that makes her want to travel all the more to the places she has learned about. Me on the other hand, well I like to go places where I can fish or enjoy amusement park rides. I still enjoy those rides but not as much as I did when I was younger. I am now starting to think more like my wife so she is started to plan vacations that will take us to places other than Florida in the winter. This fall was are going to drive the Cabot Trail where we will take video, images and notes so we can share our experience with our readers on my travel sites. Our son is all grown up now, at least he thinks he is, and now we travel alone, finally. If you're reading this son, we still love you. Our next trip after that will be through the Rocky mountains in British Columbia, we will drive that as well. I think the experience is so much better as long as you plan the trip in great detail. Tell me about the places you have traveled, and enjoyed, that you would not have travel until your better half talked you into it.

Could you explain to me how you define baby boomers because sometimes I get confused with the term. Is there a well-defined period when baby boomers were born?

Baby boomer is a term used to describe a person who was born during the Post-World War II baby boom between 1946 and the early 1960s.[1][2] Following World War II, several English-speaking countries -- the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand -- experienced an unusual spike in birth rates, a phenomenon commonly referred to as the baby boom. So, technically, baby boomers are in their early 60's. But they can be in their mid to late 50's too.

Thank you for the clear explanation. Although, I'm not considered to be among the baby boomers, I love to travel too. But due to limited funds, there is a limited number of places I could visit.

Congratulations on living your travel dreams - it is the best! When my husband and I retired a few years ago, we decided to live one of our long-held dreams - to travel the US for a long time. Not just the inside of airports and hotels, not just some short trips here and there, but a life-changing experience of being on the road and really seeing this country. We traveled for a year, saw all 48 of the contiguous states, all 43 of the National Parks (plus many more of the national monuments, seashores, etc.), acted liked kids and had the time of our lives. All along the way, people would say, "Oh, we'd love to do what you are doing, but what did you do about..." and the list would being. When we returned, we did some research and found that no one had written a book to help people plan such a trip, so we set about writing down all that we had learned and finished it off with some of our journal from the trip so that people could not only plan their trip, but also see what being on the road for a long time would really be like. We didn't want to tell people where to go and what to see, because we believe that everyone has their own "road trip dream." We just help you visualize how to do it - how to get off the couch and out the door. We've lectured all over the US, been on radio and TV and love helping others to plan their dream trip too. If this interest you, feel free to visit our website, www.roadtripdream.com where we have lots of information to help you get started. Live Your Dreams!Phil and Carol White

I love to travel. Two years ago we took a cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya. We saw (and climbed) the Mayan ruins and just had a generally awsome time. I stay closer to home these days because I have been on road trips to most of the places you mentioned when I was a teenager. My parents were very active in those kinds of trips. I am leaving on 9/1 for my anual vacation in Las Vegas with my daughter. Can't wait! That is why I haven't been online much for the past several days...too much to do to get ready. I think next year we will plan another cruise. Have fun on your road trip.
