I might have a limited audience with this discussion, but I'm okay with it. To all vampire books readers, who is your favorite vampire in print? Who has captivated your imagination, and you find fascinating, sexy, and just totally intriguing? As for me, top of the list would be all of JR Ward's BDB vampires, with Vishous heading the list. Totally adore that wicked, dominant, sexy vampire. Jean Claude of LKH's Anita Blake series is another favorite. I love the craftiness and the practicality of his, not to mention, that he is super-attractive. Its a pity that LKH does not really write much of him in the books, but I'll take what I can get? How about you? Share your favorite vamp in print.

The first that came to mind is Jean Claude in LKH's Anita Blake series. Then i would have to go with all of the BDB brothers. Z because all he has gone through and is trying to over come. Phury just because i want to see his hair. Vishous(whose story i just finished last night) because he is a dom. And Rhage just because i want to see how beautiful he really is.

I am so with you on that. The last book i read that could even be considered mundane was even about vampires. Its the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It was more a history of dracula(vlad the impaler) and how he is still alive and recruting like historians in to his ranks to build his library. It was interesting but like i said mundane.

I have read many books on this but the ones that stick out right now are all of the Anne Rice books. I like the Vampire Lestat. And others in the books I just can't remember names at this moment. Anne Rice has a series of books about Vampires. I have read them all. I just love reading about them.

Oh I feel so antiquated reading all the responses before me…it seems only I have heard and read of Count Dracula and nobody else. This Bram Stoker creation is my all-time favourite and I have wonderful childhood memories of sleepless nights imagining faces outside the widow and a great black cape flying out of our 5th floor terrace cornice and melting into the darkness all around *shivers and goosebumps*

There is a book called They Thirst. It's by an author called Robert McCammon. He also wrote Swan Song. It's one of the best books I have ever read about Vampires. The first 50 pages will knock you out. i don't know how many times I've had to buy it because every time I loaned it out I never got it back. If you have not read it yet you are in for a great read. have you read any of the southern mystery's by Charline Harris? They are great also. I also find her other books very interesting.

Hmm...I haven't heard of him. Are his books scary? Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series is in my TBR list. I think there is an HBO series about to be released based on her books. The TV series title is True Blood, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for sharing!

I guess I'll have to give a familar name, Anne Rice, she's all I've really ever read. I'm not into vampire genre but when I've read it I liked the story line. I'll have to take your advice and maybe check out the authors you suggested. Thanks.

My all time favorite vampire is vampire Lestat. One of the characters in Anne Rice book. He give the vampire story a new twist. He is magical, ageless and very handsome.

I haven't read Anne Rice, but I'm familiar with the movie version character portrayed by Tom Cruise. How sure whether he did justice to the character or not, though. Thanks for sharing!

Ann Rice's Lestat is definitely on the list. It's a pity she has decided to stop writing her vampire books. Thanks for sharing!

LJ Smith, Anne Rice, various authors of the Night World.. and the latest, Stephanie Meyer. :) Hmm.. I know there are more good books about vampires out there. What do you recommend?

Twilight's Edward would be a good candidate for the list. My recommendations for hot, sexy vampires would include, JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood warrior vampires. On a lighter note, you can also try Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series or Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. If you are really truly talking of the undead, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series has plenty of gorgeous vampires with Jean-Claude heading the list.

So far the poll results are: Bram Stoker's Dracula - 2 votes Anne Rice's Lestat -3 votes Louis - 1 vote Armand - 1 vote Marius - 1 vote Laurell K. Hamilton's Jean Claude - 2 votes JR Ward's Zhadist -2 votes Vishous - 2 votes Phury - 1 vote Rhage - 1 vote Stephanie Meyer's Edward - 1 vote Anybody who still wants to speak up and share their favorite vamp on print? The poll is still on going.
